Small circles of your favorite fabric make adorable lid toppers, too!  

You can even use circles cut from classic bandanas to make some seriously cute jar toppers, like I did with this Chocolate Cookie Mix in a Jar!

Don’t toss those cards!

Old Christmas cards, birthday cards, etc. can make fabulous Gifts in a Jar lid toppers!  Simply cut out a circle from your favorite part of the card, and affix to the lid.  Cuteness!

Colored or patterned scrapbook papers work, too!

Or for Wide Mouth Jar Lids, a 6 inch Doilie makes the cutest topper!

You can even use a printed photo to personalize the lid of your mason jar gift!

Using the silver jar topper piece as a guide, simply trim down your photos to a circle the same size as the jar topper.  (You can flip your photo over and lightly trace the jar lid to start with.)

Once you’ve filled the jar with the contents of your mason jar gift, place the silver jar topper on the jar, then the photo, then screw on the lid ring.

Chocolate Pudding Mix Recipe

• 2 1/2 cups instant nonfat dry milk
• 5 cups sugar
• 3 cups cornstarch
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa

1. To Use: Make sure you wisk the mix in a bowl to get out any lumps before using.
2. Measure out 2/3 cup of mix in a medium saucepan.
3. Add 2 cups milk, one teaspoon vanilla, and one tablespoon butter.
4. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil.
5. Continue cooking and stirring for one minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool.”

Ultimate Chippers Mix Recipe

• 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
• 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
• 1/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup coarsely chopped pecans
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon salt

>Layer ingredients attractively in any order into 1-quart food storage jar with tight-fitting lid. Pack ingredients down slightly before adding another layer.

>Cover top of jar with fabric: attach gift tag with raffia or ribbon.  The gift tag should say:

• You’ll Need: 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 egg
• 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
• 1 jar ultimate chippers mix

1. 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
2. 2. Beat butter in large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg and vanilla until blended. (mixture may appear curdled.) Add cookie mix to butter mixture; stir until well blended.
3. 3. Drop heaping teaspoonfuls dough 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden brown. Let cookies stand on cookie sheets for 2 minutes. Remove cookies to wire racks to cool completely.  Makes 4 dozen cookies.”

Amelia writes: “Here is a Soup Mix I use, hope this will be helpful. 🙂

Instant Cream of Soup Mix Recipe

• 2 cups instant milk
• 3/4 cups cornstarch
• 1/4 cups instant chicken bouillon (I suggest low sodium?)
• 1 tsp. onion powder
• 1/2 tsp. dried thyme
• 1/2 tsp. dried basil
• 1/4 tsp. pepper

1. May be used for any recipe calling for a can of cream of mushroom, chicken or celery soup. Replace with 1/3 cup of mix and 1 1/4 cup water. Boil for a few minutes stirring often.
2. I recently used the mixture without boiling just adding straight into a sauce recipe and let it simmer into the mixture already simmering. It worked and was a bit quicker plus saved a pot to wash.
3. When giving as a gift I post the directions on the jar or bag. I keep the entire recipe glued on my jar I keep here at home for easy future reference.”
