It takes just a few simple items to make the BEST caramel sauce right at home!

Check your cupboards or pantry, or add the following to your next grocery list to make sure you’ve got everything on hand…

  • Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • Wide Mouth Mason Jars

You’ll also need a 4 – 6 quart Crockpot to get the job done.

That’s it.

How to Make Caramel Sauce

You won’t believe how easy it is to make your own homemade caramel sauce right in your Crock Pot!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Pour the condensed milk into the mason jars as specified.

2. Screw the lids on very tightly, then place the mason jars in the slow cooker.

3. Add the required amount of water and cook until done.

4. Once you’ve made your homemade caramel sauce, allow it to cool for 30 minutes prior to removing the lids and using.

See… I told you this was going to be EASY!!

Crockpot Caramel Sauce Recipe (Dulce De Leche)

Grab your slow cooker, it's time to create some magic in the kitchen with this Crockpot Caramel Sauce Recipe!
Servings: 4 jars

Cook Time: 9 hours
Total Time: 9 hours 5 minutes

Ingredients 

  • 28 oz. Eagle Sweetened Condensed Milk, (2 cans, 14 oz. each)
  • 4 Wide Mouth Mason Jars (8 oz. each)

Instructions 

  • Pour Sweetened Condensed Milk equally into 4 jars, leaving 1″ of space at the top of each jar.
  • Screw lids on VERY tight.
  • Place jars in Crockpot, then fill Crockpot with warm water until jars are fully submerged, with about an extra 1″ of water above the jar lids.
  • Cook on LOW for 9 hours.
  • After 9 hours, carefully remove jars with tongs (they’ll be HOT), and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
  • After jars have cooled, remove lids, grab some apple slices, and start dipping into your delicious caramel sauce!

Notes

  • Extra Caramel Sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy cold throughout the week, or microwave to soften it up before using. ENJOY!

    Sounds amazing! Would it work and be safe to add salt? Enough to make it taste like salted caramel? Love the simplicity of this, esp. with the slow cooker. But I’m hoping to make the salted kind and can’t find any recipes as simple as this with salt.
