When it comes to making candied nuts… it can be quite the process, but that’s where these fast and easy stovetop candied pecans come in!  These savory pecans wrapped in a gooey sugar glaze are beyond dreamy, and can be made in just 5 minutes!

They’re the perfect blend of sweet and cinnamon-y, and are so ridiculously fast to make!  Just 5 minutes and you’re done!  The hardest part will be waiting for them to cool and dry a bit, but go ahead and sneak some sticky pecans while you wait… I totally give you permission!  Only sneak a few though, these little guys are addictive!!  If you’re not careful, these caramelized stovetop candied pecans will disappear as fast as you can make them!

Now these candied nuts can be enjoyed all year long, but make sure to serve up these delicious cinnamon sugar pecan halves at the holidays for guests to snack on, too!  Then add them to your fancy cheeseboards, spread them out in a layer over your baked pumpkin pie, or chop and sprinkle them on your baked Sweet Potato.  You can even top your salads with them year round!  Pecans have never tasted so good!

And if you need any more reasons to indulge in these sweet treats… just remember this: pecans are high in fiber, packed with vitamins, and a great source of antioxidants!  So let’s indulge, shall we?

Prep Time1 min
Cook Time4 mins
Total Time5 mins
Course: Dessert
Cuisine: American
Servings: 2 cups

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Millican Pecan Halves {8 oz.}
  • 1/2 cup Granulated {White} Sugar + 1 tsp. for Sprinkling
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 tbsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 4 tbsp. Water

Instructions

  • Preheat 10" cast iron skillet over low heat.
  • Once it has warmed up a bit, turn heat up to medium. Then add Sugar, Cinnamon, Vanilla, Salt, and Water to skillet, and cook over medium heat for about 1 - 2 minutes, stirring well with a wooden spoon until mixture turns into a glaze and begins to bubble.
  • Then add pecans to skillet, and continue stirring well until all pecans have been coated with the glaze... about 2 more minutes.
  • Now transfer pecans to a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper.
  • Flip each pecan over so it's right side up, and spread out so none are left touching.
  • Then sprinkle pecans with additional 1 tsp. of Sugar.
  • Allow to cool overnight, and ENJOY!
  • Store in a mason jar or airtight container on the counter and use within the week, or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.

So wasn’t that easy?  Nothing beats a candied pecan… and they make the sweetest little gifts in a jar, too!  I’m giving you a fair warning though… they’ll disappear as fast as you can make them! 🙂

How Long Do Fresh Pecans Last?

If you’re not ready to make your candied pecans right away, simply store your pecans from Millican Pecan in the refrigerator up to 6 months, or the freezer up to one year.

How Do You Fix Sticky Candied Pecans?

Now if you’re just dreaming of sticky candied pecans, these will actually be sticky as the sugar cools.  So that first day you make them… go to town and enjoy your sticky pecans!  After that, as the sugar finishes cooling, you’ll have the traditional hardened sugar candy pecans.

How Long Will Candied Pecans Keep Fresh?

So you’re probably wondering… how long are candied pecans good for?  Well, once your pecans have completely cooled, simply store in an airtight container or mason jar at room temperature, and use within 1 week.

Where Do The Best Pecans Come From?

When it comes to pecans, I’ve personally found that the orchard fresh pecans from Millican Pecan top the charts!

How Long Do Fresh Pecans Last

Millican Pecan is one of the oldest pecan companies in Texas, and has been harvesting and selling pecans since 1888.  They are my favorite source of fresh pecans halves that will take your recipes to the next level!

Millican Pecan offers Grade 1 Fancy pecans that have a light gorgeous color, are picked fresh this season for rich flavor, and have had no cooking process.  And the best part is… they’re so affordable, too!  They’re just the right mix of quality and value.  Millican Pecan is all about old fashioned quality, and even have five generations of pecan lineage standing behind their company, so you know they’re going to be good!

What a simple, tasty recipe! Would it work to use a combination of different nuts, say pecans, almonds, and cashews?

Hi Jacquay ~ a nonstick skillet will work fine, too. 🙂 Just skip the preheating step if using nonstick, and you may need to extend the cook time a bit.
