How Do You Add Flavor To Hot Chocolate?

Vanilla with hot chocolate is such a heavenly flavor combination… and I have a simple trick that will help you create the most luxuriously rich and delicious vanilla hot chocolate powder mix.

Mixing powdered French Vanilla Coffee Creamer right into your cocoa mix! That’s it. Easy peasy!

Ingredients including cocoa, French vanilla coffee creamer, and powder sugar.

Ingredients

You’ll just need a few simple ingredients to make the BEST french vanilla hot cocoa mix…

  • French Vanilla Coffee Creamer Powder – Coffee Mate brand works great!
  • Cocoa Powder – Natural, unsweetened 100% cacao. I recommend using Hershey’s, Ghirardelli or 365 Organic Cocoa Powder for best flavor, just like I use in my Stovetop Hot Chocolate Recipe and Recipe for Crockpot Hot Chocolate.
  • Powdered Sugar – to sweeten it up.
  • Salt – I like to use Sea Salt

You’ll also need an airtight container with a lid for storing your vanilla cocoa mix. I personally use mason jars.

How to Make Vanilla Hot Chocolate Mix

You won’t believe how quick and easy this vanilla hot chocolate powder mix is to prepare!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. First you’ll add all of your ingredients to a medium mixing bowl, and then just whisk until they’re well combined.

2. Spoon your mix into a mason jar (or cute mason jar mug if you’ll be giving as a gift).

3. As you spoon your mixture into the jar, just tap down gently on the counter to help the contents settle into the jar. Then affix your lid, and you’re done!
