It’s actually SO easy to make these festive recipe for Valentine’s Day cookies!  

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Start by mixing together the Cake Mix, Butter & Eggs until well combined.

2. Then stir in your Valentine’s Day M&M’s.

3. Chill your cake mix cookie dough in the refrigerator.

4. While the dough is chilling, line your baking sheets with parchment paper.

5. Then… when the dough has finished chilling, roll your cookie dough into balls, and place them on the parchment paper lined baking sheets.

6. Bake your cookies in the oven per the instructions on the below recipe card.

7. Once done baking, allow the cookies to cool before serving.

4. Form cookie dough balls & bake on parchment lined cookie sheets.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 – 13 minutes, or until done.

Ingredients 

  • 13.25 ounces Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix, (if using a 15.25 oz. box, increase butter to 1/2 cup)
  • 1/3 cup Melted Butter, (Vegetable or Canola Oil can be substituted)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 10 ounces Valentine’s Day M&M’s, (about 1 1/4 cups)

Instructions 

  • Gather your ingredients.
    M&Ms and chocolate cake mix.
  • Combine Cake Mix, Melted Butter (or oil), and Eggs in large mixing bowl, and mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.
    Chocolate cookie dough in bowl with spatula.
  • Gently stir in Valentine’s Day M&M’s with large wooden spoon.
  • Cover dough and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • After dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll cookie dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon sized rounded balls and transfer to cookie sheet.
  • Bake on center oven rack for 7 – 13 minutes, or until done. (Note: Bake on the shorter end of the time range for non-stick cookie sheets & longer end of the time range for aluminum cookie sheets.)
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling, and ENJOY!

  • Butter: When it comes to Cake Mix Cookies, salted or unsalted butter can be used, as the cake mix will have a little salt in it.  However, I’ve found that salted butter will result in superior flavor.
