Sausage and Peppers Ingredients
It takes just a few simple ingredients to make the BEST Skillet Sausage and Peppers!
Add the following to your next grocery list to make sure you’ve got everything on hand…
- Bell Peppers – 1 red, 1 orange, 1 yellow (tonight we eat the rainbow!)
- Onion – yellow for balanced sweet flavor
- Garlic – minced
- Beef Kielbasa – to pack in the protein
- Sauerkraut – I prefer refrigerated for the probiotic boost, but you can use shelf stable, too
- Brown Sugar – to balance out the flavors (See How to Keep Brown Sugar Softer)
- Salt – to bring out the flavors (I like to use Sea Salt)
You’ll also need a skillet to get the job done.
That’s it. So simple!
What Meat Goes With Sauerkraut and Peppers?
For maximum flavor, Kielbasa Sausage (also known as Polish Sausage) is one of the tastiest meats you can serve up with sauerkraut.
Then add in some veggies to balance out and kick up the flavors, and you’ve got a complete low carb meal!
How to Make Sausage and Peppers
You’re not going to believe how EASY this is to make!
Here’s what you’ll do…
1. Chop your veggies.
2. Slice your Kielbasa.
3. Sautee Peppers, Onion and Garlic in Skillet.
4. Add sauerkraut to your skillet as specified just before serving your meal. It will allow it to slowly heat up and just begin to dry out.
That’s it… you’re done!

Sausage and Peppers Recipe

Ingredients
- 3 Bell Peppers, (1 Red, 1 Orange, 1 Yellow)
- 1 Yellow Onion
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 3 Tbsp Avocado Oil
- 12 oz Beef Kielbasa Link
- 2 cups Sauerkraut, drained
- 1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
Instructions
- Cube Bell Peppers and Yellow Onion, and slice Kielbasa.
- Add Oil, Peppers, Onion and Garlic to skillet, and stir over medium heat.
- After 10-15 minutes, or when onions become translucent, add Kielbasa, Sauerkraut, Brown Sugar and Salt to skillet. Stir for 5 more minutes, then ENJOY!
