Gifts in a Jar are fun to make {and receive} all year long!!

Here’s another quick and simple Cookie Mixes in a Jar that makes a fabulous budget friendly gift idea filled with homemade love!  This cookie mix makes up some amazing strawberry coconut cookies, YUM!

This creates such a fabulously frugal gift that is perfect for family, co-workers and friends alike…

Strawberry Coconut Cookie Mixes in a Jar Recipe

Strawberry Coconut Cake Mix Cookie Recipe

What You’ll Need To Make this Strawberry Coconut Cookie Mixes Gift in a Jar:

  • 1 box Pillsbury Strawberry Moist Supreme Cake Mix {15.25 oz.}
  • 3/4 Cup Flaked Coconut
  • 1 quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Ribbon

Instructions:

  • Carefully empty 1/2 of the contents of the cake mix package into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar.
  • Pour in all of the coconut.
  • Then pour in the remaining amount of cake mix on top.  {Or… if you’d rather, you can just pour in the entire contents of the cake mix, and then pour in the coconut all on the top}  Whatever suits your fancy! 😉
  • Put the silver jar topper on top, place a round scrap of scrapbook paper on top, then screw on the jar’s lid.  {or you could use a doilie like I did here}
  • Wrap some fun ribbon around the silver lid.
  • Optional: If you’ve got a Silhouette, you could even print the words ‘Cookie Mix’ like I did here.

Attach a Label with Baking Instructions:

  • Attach a label {or you can add the instructions to the top of the jar’s lid} with the following baking instructions.
  • Beat together 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.
  • Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.
  • Drop onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet in rounded balls.
  • Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes {or until done} at 350 degrees.

    Oh, those are BEAUTIFUL! I want to try them with a lemon cake mix for my aunt, because she’s a BIG fan of lemon, but I’ll definitely do some of these for other folks! Thanks for the beautiful, easy gift idea!

    I just found(by accident) today at walmart they actually have Christmas lids(only the tin, not the frame) for mason jars. It was only about $3!

    Cupcake wrappers instead of scrapbook paper work great too! And you get the pretty edges.
