Crock Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Variations

Want to change things up a bit?  Go for it!

Here are a few of my favorite variations to this decadent dish:

Buffalo Crockpot Garlic Parmesan Chicken

Add 1 cup Buffalo Wing’s Sauce to this sauce mixture

Alice writes: “Awesome buffalo garlic parmesan chicken recipe. I only used half the sauce and am freezing the rest. This is a great combo for batch cooking. I will double the chicken next time and freeze it in meal size portions.”

Crock Pot Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings

Use ingredients listed below, but substitute 2 1/2 lbs. fresh or thawed Chicken Wings.  Shorten cook time to 2.5 hour on HIGH before draining and adding sauce.  Pour sauce over wings, and cook for 30 more minutes.

For crispier wings, retain 3/4 cup of sauce mixture.

After wings have finished cooking, place on foil lined cookie sheet and brush with 1/4 cup of the remaining sauce and place under Broiler for 5 minutes, then flip wings and brush with another 1/4 cup of sauce and place under broiler for an additional 5 minutes, then flip once more, brush with remaining 1/4 cup of sauce, and place under broiler for 5 more minutes.

Michelle writes: “I made the Garlic Parmesan Wings as a surprise for my fiancé one day, and he LOVED them! Got to make again!”

Kathy writes: “So very good!”

Hello! Husband asks for this time and time again it’s so good. Anyone doing keto that could give me a breakdown of nutrition facts for it? In my app I put in the recipe but it’s breaking it down to one serving having 80g of protein 85g of fat – that’s more protein than I’m allowed for all day for one chicken breast of this recipe- so I must be doing something wrong!

I made this last night. I cooked my chicken (tenders because that was all I had) with a packet of Knorr’s vegetable recipe mix that I needed to use. My garlic cloves were HUGE so I only used four and decided to be lazy and use the garlic press. I used Duke’s mayo and got a block of parmesan and used the cheese grater.

I could drink that sauce. It was so good! I served it with green beans and mashed potatoes. The leftovers today for lunch were just as yummy! This is definitely a keeper for a rich, special dinner. Though I think next time I might half the amount of butter just to lighten it up a bit.

      Thank you so much!

So, I did 4 chicken thighs on high 3 hours mixed 1/2 cup Mayo, lemon juice, parsley & basil, only 1/4 cup butter, 2 TBSP garlic, Parmesan AND mozzarella true to your heart, and I topped it with seasoned Panko. Hi Julie ~ that’s correct. You’ll first just cook the chicken separately… and no nonstick spray is necessary, as the chicken will end up cooking in the juices it releases. Later, after you drain the juices, you’ll add the sauce. This will ensure a thicker, more flavorful sauce for your chicken. Hope that helps! 🙂

I actually compared the prices the last time I purchased parmesan and realized that the freshly grated in a jar is just out the same price as the stuff in the can. Literally a few pennies difference. I used to think I couldn’t afford the freshly grated but I actually can. Check it out. BTW, I shop mostly at Walmart.

I cooked it on low too and had a nice crockpot (Kitchenaid). I loved that crock! I found out it would cost about $35 to replace the liner. It might have just been a fluke, or it might be the brand of pot. I don’t know. I wished I’d spent the $35 to get a new liner, rather than switching brands, because the crock burns everything even on low.

Can you cook this all together for 4-6 hours on low or is there a specific reason you cook the chicken first then add the parmesan/garlic sauce towards the end? Thanks!

Because the chicken is going to make tons of it’s on juice, you’ll want to drain it off before you add your sauce.

Are you pouring water over the chicken when you cook it initially or is it by itself? Thanks!

Joseph, I just made this dish and I put the chicken right in the crock pot with no additional liquid. Due to the slow cooking, the chicken produces it’s own juices over the 3 hours! 😉
