I took 3 boneless large chicken breast. Sliced them open and put ham and Swiss inside! Placed in crockpot and placed another slice of ham and cheese on top! Then followed recipe except I used 1 can of cream of mushroom soup with one cream of chicken! Added some mushrooms- fabulous!

Can you cut the chicken prior to putting in crockpot?
Rose says
Is this a recipe that can also be made in the oven?
Jennifer says
Does chicken have to be thawed?
Heidi says
Hi Jennifer ~ yes… for this recipe you will definitely want to thaw your chicken prior to cooking. 🙂
Marcia says
Do you mix at the end or just cut the chicken?
Heidi says
Hi Marcia… there is no need to mix at the end, just serve, cut, and enjoy! 🙂
LISA HICKS says
I made this recipe last week and it was great! I added more Swiss cheese as I’m a cheese lover. I was wondering if I added another can of soup would I get more of a gravy.
Heidi says
Hi Lisa ~ I’m so glad you liked it! Extra cheese is always a fun idea, too! And yes… you can definitely add another can of soup if you’d like more of a gravy sauce. 🙂
Jackie says
This looks delicious! I’m going to try it this weekend!
Heidi says
Thanks, Jackie… hope you love it! 🙂
Emily says
How long would I cook this if I wanted to just do the chicken, cheese, ham? Trying to make this low carb!
Heidi says
Hi Emily ~ I honestly haven’t tried this recipe that way, but here’s my best guess. If you’re skipping the stuffing, I would try cooking the chicken alone on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours {covered}.
After 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW, drain juices from Crock Pot.
Then add your ham and cheese, cover your Crock Pot, and cook on HIGH for 30 minutes more, or until done. Hope that helps!
Tina says
Made this today and came out great! I made my own Cream of chicken soup so I could control the salt content. I also used cornbread stuffing and it came out super tasty!! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Heidi says
Aww ~ thank you, Whitney! Aren’t crock pot recipes the best? They’re such a lifesaver on those busy weeknights!
carol says
This sounds yummy, but won’t the milk curdle in the crockpot?
Heidi says
Hi Carol ~ the milk cooks great in this recipe and won’t curdle at all, being that it is such a small amount of milk used to thin out a thick condensed soup. Hope that helps!
carol says
Good news …. thanks for the reply!
Heidi says
You’re very welcome, Carol… enjoy! 😉
