What’s the green garnish on top? Fresh parsley?
Heidi says
Hi Angela… yes, it is chopped fresh parsley, and makes a lovely little garnish! 🙂
Joanne Schumacher says
Hi!
I am making this Reipe today
My question is —-> Do you add Milk to the Creamed Soups or just add can of Creamed Soups?
Thanks!
Joanne
Heidi says
Hi Joanne ~ you will not add any milk… just use the condensed creamed soups. Hope that helps! 🙂
Tiffiny says
Thank you for this recipe. It turned out SO good! I had to make a few changes due to us being super broke right now, but this is a keeper! I used about 1.5lb of cut up chicken thighs (couldn’t afford more, but it still worked out) and I subbed a 1/2 tsp garlic powder because my fresh garlic had gone bad. Everything else was to the recipe and I’m really glad I waited until the last 30 min to add everything to the chicken… the sauce is so creamy and tasty. I served it over pasta because that’s what I had on hand. I was worried my husband wouldn’t like it (he doesn’t like “new” things), but he ate it all and said “this is DAMN good”…. so yay! Thank you!
Heidi says
You’re very welcome! So glad to hear you both liked it, Tiffiny! 🙂
LeighAnn says
I don’t buy fresh lemons, I buy lemon juice. Do you think just 1 tsp or 1 tblsp of lemon juice?
Heidi says
Hi LeighAnn,
You can try using 2 tablespoons of lemon juice as a substitute for squeezing 1 lemon. Of course you can adjust the amount to your preferences.
Have fun with this recipe and have a wonderful weekend!
~ Heidi
Michael Pearce says
I am preparing to make it and also only have cream of mushroom and cream of chicken i dont know about mixing the two can i just use cream of chicken?
Lana says
would adding capers be ok in this?
Nora Dolan says
When do I add the lemon slices?
Heidi says
Hi Nora ~ the lemon slices can be added on top at the very end, just before serving as a pretty garnish.
Anne says
Can’t wait to try this one – my family loved lemon & garlic, and I love the crockpot. It’s a win-win!
Elizabeth says
Should the crockpot be covered for both methods – 3rh and 6hr? Thanks!
Heidi says
Hi Elizabeth ~ yes, covered for both methods. Enjoy! 🙂
Jamie White says
Hi, I couldn’t find the cream of chicken with herbs. What spices do you think I should add to substitute.
Yessi says
Good question. I also only found the regular cream of chicken and cream of mushroom.
MEG says
I also had on hand both soups without herbs (and only lemon juice). It came out too bland. Otherwise, delicious. I encourage you to add spices!
Natalie says
Can you add any vegetables or potatoes to the crockpot? I’d love to make it a one pot deal!
Heidi says
I haven’t tried, Natalie… but if you do, let me know how it turns out!
Alina says
Is it ok to cook everything together at once? Instead of waiting to add the rest of the ingredients after 3 hours?
Heidi says
Hi Alina ~ you’ll end up with a much thicker, more delicious sauce if adding it at the end. Hope that helps!
Carrie says
I add white wine so I cook it all together from the beginning and it’s delicious.
Ami says
I can’t wait to try this, thanks! Do you think it’s ok to use fresh boneless chicken thighs?
Heidi says
Hi Ami ~ yes… boneless thighs should work as well! You may just need to alter the time a bit, so just keep an eye on them as they’re cooking. 😉
kimberly says
Before reading the instructions, I simply put everything in the crockpot! Yikes! Do you still think it will be okay on low?
Julie says
Can you use something else in place of the cream of mushroom? Not a fan of them.
Nora Dolan says
Same here, so I’ll try cream of celery
Julie Dumer says
How did it turn out okay?
Dana says
Step 1 – Do you simply put the chicken in the crock pot all by itself? I’m wondering if I need to lightly oil the bottom of the crockpot or add a little water so the chicken doesn’t stick to the bottom of the pot. This recipe sounds delicious!
Heidi says
Hi Dana ~ that’s correct… no water or oil is needed, as the chicken will end up cooking in its own juices it releases. Hope that helps!
Fishy says
Love finding ir recipes
Heidi says
Aww ~ thank you… enjoy the chicken!
