That sounds like a delicious addition!
I will be making this tonight!
Fantastic… hope you loved it!
That sounds so good and sounds kind of similar to a crock pot recipe that my family loves. I don’t know where this recipe came from but it’s so easy and so delicious!
Swiss Chicken Casserole
6 chicken breasts (I use froz., boneless, skinless, breasts)
6 slices Swiss cheese
10 3/4 ounces cream of mushroom soup, canned (I use 2 cans)
1/4 cup milk
2 cups stuffing mix (I use a whole box of Stove Top)
1/2 cup butter, melted
Directions
1. Lay chicken breasts in slow cooker. ( I put mine in frozen)
2. Top with cheese.
3. Combine soup and milk and spoon over cheese.
4. Sprinkle stuffing mix on top. Drizzle melted butter over stuffing mix.
5. Cover; cook on Low 8-10 hours or High 3-4 hours.
Thanks so much for sharing your recipe, Julie! That sounds delicious… I can’t wait to give it a try!
~ Heidi
Thanks Julie, Bought a new crock pot the other day, and have been looking for some new recipes to try. This will be the first!
Julie- I have that same exact recipe! We love it and it’s so easy!
I’ve made something very similar to this before and it is very yummy!
It really is such a cozy comfort food casserole!
This is a great recipe! I’ve made it and the kids love it because of it SO cheesy!!!
Definitely! My kids devour this one, too! 🙂
Well I have not made this version but I do one that is similar. I take chicken and line the bottom of a pan (so breasts would be good) then on top put stove top stuffing then a layer of swiss and then mix together a cream of chicken OR cream of celery with a can of milk and pour it over the top – then bake it for a hour on 350. You do have to cook the stove top first though. Super easy though – and my 2 year old likes it! (BONUS!! 🙂
Ooh ~ that sounds delicious, Dawn!!
~ Heidi
Thanks, the original sounds pretty good too, I have been on a soup kick, but when I go back to baked dishes I will try it. 🙂 🙂
I made something similar tonight in the Crockpot… Swiss Chicken w/ Mushrooms.. No noodles with mine and used chicken breasts instead of rotisserie but it was delicious.
That sounds delicious, Janet!
I was thinking you definitely can make this lower fat by using light sour cream, reduced fat swiss & 98% fat free cream of chicken soup. Never buy stuffing so I would have to check into that. Oh if you like wheat pasta you can use that(I don’t!)
they also have whole wheat stuffing mix you can buy. I can’t wait to try this recipe.
Hi Terri ~ Ziti noodles are similar to Penne noodles. You could substitute those as well. Oh, and my camera is a Sony ~ I love it! 😉
~ Heidi
This recipe looks awesome! Can’t wait to try it out.
Thank you so much… it’s the perfect cozy dinner for chilly nights!
