How to Keep Lettuce Fresh for Salads
Would you like to keep your head of lettuce fresh and crisp for longer than ever?
When you get home from the grocery store, remove any wilted or slimy leaves from your head of lettuce, and toss or add to your Compost Bin.
Do NOT wash lettuce head.
Then place head of lettuce in your refrigerator’s crisper drawer with paper towels underneath it.
This will help to absorb any excess moisture, and keep it fresh so much longer.
Shelly writes: “This trick really works, try it! It makes lettuce leaves last twice as long as usual!”
