The secret to this coleslaw is the creamy homemade dressing. It’s a delightful combination of bold and tangy flavors that will tickle your tastebuds with delight.

You’ll love using this flavorsome coleslaw to top off your favorite pulled pork sandwich!

To start, we will be using pre-chopped cabbage. Then, you’ll just need 5 minutes of prep to get the job done.

Coleslaw Ingredients

You’ll just need the following ingredients to make your coleslaw and dressing.

Check your cupboards, pantry, and fridge, or add the following to your next grocery list to make sure you’ve got everything on hand.

Here’s what you’ll need…

  • Coleslaw Mix – chopped cabbage with shredded carrots can be substituted
  • Red Onion
  • Mayonaise
  • Sour Cream
  • White Vinegar
  • Sugar
  • Ground Mustard – you can increase the amount used for spicier coleslaw
  • Celery Seed
  • Salt
  • Black Pepper – either ground or fresh cracked will work

That’s it.  So easy!

How to Make Coleslaw

You won’t believe how easy it is to make your own coleslaw with dressing at home!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Mix your coleslaw dressing ingredients together as specified in a large bowl.

2. Then add in your pre-chopped cabbage and onion, and stir again.

3. Finally, allow your slaw to marinate in the fridge before serving.

4. When done, dish it up as a delicious dinner side or use it as a heavenly topping for your pulled pork sandwiches.

How to Store Coleslaw

For best flavor, I commend covering your coleslaw and allowing it to chill in the fridge for 2-4 hours before serving.

Your coleslaw can last for up to 3-5 days in your refrigerator. However, I recommend using it within one day for the best flavor.

Ingredients 

  • 16 ounces Coleslaw Mix
  • 2 tbsp Red Onions, (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Sour Cream
  • 2 tbsp White Vinegar
  • 3 tbsp Sugar
  • 2 tsp Ground Mustard, (or use 1 tbsp for spicier coleslaw)
  • 2 tsp Celery Seed
  • 1/8 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper

Instructions 

  • In small bowl, whisk together Sugar, Ground Mustard, Celery Seed, Salt, and Pepper.
  • Add in Mayonnaise, Sour Cream, and White Vinegar, and stir until well combined.
  • In large bowl, add 1/2 bag of Coleslaw Mix and Red Onions.
  • Pour dressing from small bowl over Coleslaw/Onion mixture, and toss with tongs.
  • Then add in remaining 1/2 bag of Coleslaw Mix, and toss again until well combined.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap, and transfer to refrigerator to chill for 2 - 4 hours before serving. ENJOY!
