How to Make Sweet and Sour Coleslaw

You won’t believe how easy this sweet coleslaw recipe is to prepare!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Mix your dressing ingredients together as specified in a large bowl.

2. Then add in your pre-chopped cabbage, and stir again.

3. Finally, allow your slaw to marinate in the fridge before serving.

How Long To Chill Coleslaw Before Serving?

For best flavor, I commend covering your sweet vinegar coleslaw and allowing it to chill in the fridge for 2-4 hours before serving.

How Long Does Coleslaw Last?

Your sweet coleslaw can last for up to 3-5 days in your refrigerator. However, I recommend using it within one day for best flavor.

Ingredients 

  • 16 ounces Coleslaw Mix (1 package)
  • 1 cup shredded Purple Cabbage, for texture & color
  • ½ cup White Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • cup White Sugar
  • ¼ cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Celery Seed
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • teaspoon Cayenne Pepper, *optional

Instructions 

  • Gather your sweet and tangy coleslaw ingredients.
    Ingredients including celery seed, white wine vinegar, and olive oil.
  • Whisk dry ingredients together in large bowl.
  • Add in wet ingredients, and stir together.
  • Pour in 1/2 bag of Coleslaw Mix, and stir.
  • Add in remaining 1/2 of Coleslaw Mix and 1 cup shredded purple cabbage, and stir together well.
  • For best flavor, cover the coleslaw and allow to chill in the fridge for 2-4 hours before serving.
