Jessie Winn says
I just made this recipe for the first time. put chicken with white rice and green beans to finish the meal. my boyfriend said he will be no good at work tonight because he ate so much, my 12 year old son said it’s “bussing” which he said means really good. it was so good. the chicken was juicy and so tasty. Thank you so much!!!!
Heidi says
Aww… thank you so much for the sweet review, Jessie! I’m so glad to hear everyone loved the Honey Mustard Chicken!!
Jen says
I fully understand now why I shouldn’t have used coarse ground Dijon mustard! The flavor was excellent and the chicken was perfect but the texture was awful. Going to try it again with regular Dijon for sure! Great recipe! Cook time was perfect.
Heidi says
Haha… I’m so glad you liked the flavor, Jen… and yes, you definitely want to stay away from coarse ground mustard in this recipe. 🙂
Teresa says
Can the chicken breast be frozen when you add them or do they have to be thawed?
Heidi says
Hi Teresa ~ you’ll use thawed chicken breasts for this recipe. ENJOY!
Beth says
I’m really looking forward to trying this.
Instead of waiting until the end to add the honey and mustard, do you think I could put it in at the beginning and let it cook with the chicken the entire time?
Heidi says
Hi Beth ~ you can add the sauce at the beginning, but the taste and end result will be very different.
If you drain the juices and add the sauce near the end, you’ll end up with a much thicker more tasty sauce. Hope that helps!
Emily says
Do you have to drain the chicken?
Heidi says
Hi Emily ~ draining the juices will ensure you have a thicker more flavorful sauce and end result. 🙂 Hope that helps!
Margaret E Wright says
I’m all alone after loosing my husband last year. Do you have any recipes for 1or 2 people? Everything looks very good.
Thanks!
Tracy says
I also was wondering on the size of chicken breast you should use ?
Heidi says
Hi Tracy, I typically use 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts. If using smaller pieces, just shorten the time a bit. Hope that helps! 😉
Tracy says
This was delish!! And so easy! I will be trying more of your recipes, thank you.
Heidi says
You’re very welcome… so glad you liked it!
Judy says
Hi. Do I cook the chicken in the crockpot with or without water???
I’m totally new to the crockpot thank you for your help.
Heidi says
Hi Judy ~ no water is necessary. The chicken will end up cooking in its own juices. Hope that helps! 😉
