Will thighs and legs make much of a difference. We don’t use the breasts much.

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Rose ~ you could definitely substitute thighs or legs for the chicken breast. Following are links to recipes to follow {with cooking time / lbs of chicken used} when cooking thighs or legs in the crockpot, then you could just use this country style sauce… hope this helps!

  4. Vicky says:

Hi, I’m new to cooking (especially with a crock pot) and a seriously busy medical student, so I’m usually gone a minimum of 6 hours a day. Would I be able to put all of the ingredients together on low and cook all day while I’m in classes? If so, would that work for other similar recipes on your blog?

    1. Emily says:

@Vicky, yes, you totally can! I made this yesterday. I put frozen chicken in the crock and covered it with the gravy/soup packet mixture. Cooked on high for five hours. Or you could cook on low for approximately 8 hours, again from frozen if you like. I do it all the time.

  5. Amy says:

do you make onion soup first and then combine with gravy or just put mix in gravy?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Amy ~ you’ll just add the dry soup mix to the gravy. Hope that helps!

  6. Cindy Hof says:

Can’t wait to try this! I have never seen canned gravy anywhere in Canada though. Is there another option for creating it? Would dry packaged gravy starter work?

    1. Suzanne says:

      Try cream of chicken soup

  7. Marie says:

My picky eaters love this! I did add a little water to cut the saltiness. Easy and delish!

  8. Katie says:

never cooked anything in a crockpot before. do i need to add and water or anything or just place chicken in crockpot thats it?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Katie ~ no water is necessary… the chicken will end up cooking in its own juices. Hope that helps! 😉
