Question here, what do I put in the crock pot with the chicken while it cooks, your instructions say to add the ingredients AFTERWARDS

Hi Robert ~ you won’t need to add anything else at the beginning… you’ll cook the chicken alone in the crock pot for the first portion of cooking. It will end up cooking in its own juices that it releases. Hope that helps!

Hi Jenn ~ yes… it’s pretty hot for little mouths. You could always use a little less sauce, and mix in some sour cream to tone it down a bit? Hope that helps! 🙂

I tried this and the chicken was moist and juicy! I did the 6 hours on low heat. I changed a couple things – I wanted to make sure the chicken soaked up the buffalo goodness in the crock pot, so I put that mixture on before cooking. Afterwards, because it was too soupy, I took the “buffalo broth” out and put somewhere around 1 1/2 c of Fage greek yogurt and somewhere between 1/8-1/4 c of flour to thicken it some more in a mixing bowl.

The yogurt really saved my taste buds from exploding! All in all, really good. My boyfriend’s first question was, how much is Frank’s Hot Sauce, because he’d like to make this on a regular basis! (Thankfully it’s pretty cheap, btw.)

      COPYCAT H.V. RANCH DRESSING MIX

1/2 cup dry buttermilk (can use regular powdered milk, but I’m not sure how that would affect taste/texture)
      1 T. dried parsley flakes
      1 tsp. instant minced onions
      1 tsp. dill weed
      1 tsp. garlic salt
      1 tsp. onion powder
      1/2 tsp. garlic powder
      1 tsp. salt (I didn’t add it)
