Made this tonight for game day! My family loved it! So good and so easy!!
Heidi says
Aww… thanks, Leah… I’m so glad to hear everyone liked it! It really is the perfect game day dish! 🙂
Robert says
Question here, what do I put in the crock pot with the chicken while it cooks, your instructions say to add the ingredients AFTERWARDS
Heidi says
Hi Robert ~ you won’t need to add anything else at the beginning… you’ll cook the chicken alone in the crock pot for the first portion of cooking. It will end up cooking in its own juices that it releases. Hope that helps!
Robert says
Awesome!
Thanks for the quick reply!
I’m trying this in the next two hours
Kristyn says
Going to make this tomorrow w/ Louisianna Hot Sauce and two Ranch Packets. maybe a dash of cream cheese……on the LOW setting will post results . We usually have a wing night monthly. Interested to change it up!
Olivia says
How much of the ingredients would you put if you only wanted to make two chicken breasts?
Heidi says
Hi Olivia ~ if only making two chicken breasts, you’ll just need to cut the other ingredients in half. ENJOY! 🙂
Jenn says
Hi, im thinking about making this for the fam. Just wondering if it is really hot? (Little mouths) thx!
Heidi says
Hi Jenn ~ yes… it’s pretty hot for little mouths. You could always use a little less sauce, and mix in some sour cream to tone it down a bit? Hope that helps! 🙂
Jen M says
I tried this and the chicken was moist and juicy! I did the 6 hours on low heat. I changed a couple things – I wanted to make sure the chicken soaked up the buffalo goodness in the crock pot, so I put that mixture on before cooking. Afterwards, because it was too soupy, I took the “buffalo broth” out and put somewhere around 1 1/2 c of Fage greek yogurt and somewhere between 1/8-1/4 c of flour to thicken it some more in a mixing bowl.
The yogurt really saved my taste buds from exploding! All in all, really good. My boyfriend’s first question was, how much is Frank’s Hot Sauce, because he’d like to make this on a regular basis! (Thankfully it’s pretty cheap, btw.)
Jean says
Has anyone tried this with wings?
Heidi says
Hi Jean ~ yes… it’s delicious with wings!
Here’s the step-by-step instructions to make it with Wings:

Carrie says
Love this! It has become a weekly staple. Because my family is so large, I shred the chicken and add 1 cup cooked brown rice to it. We put it on wraps and add coleslaw or lettuce/tomato with Ranch dressing to cool it down. Thanks for the recipe!
Heidi says
You’re very welcome, Carrie! It is definitely delicious with the ranch dressing, and I love your idea of the wrap!
Caralyn says
What do you suggest for a side with this dish? I have it in the crockpot now ☺️
Heidi says
Hi Caralyn ~ it’s delicious served with rice or potatoes… or you can shred it after it’s done and serve on a hamburger bun. ENJOY! 😉
Jordan says
Extremely new to the crockpot cooking! So I need things extremely broken down lol. Do you need the entire bottle of buffalo sauce?
Heidi says
Hi Jordan… yes ~ you’ll use the entire bottle. Enjoy!! 😉
Erik says
This is amazing! After I added the sauce I went to run quick errands which turned into hours. Came back and the chicken was falling off the fork. So I shredded it and they were the best buffalo chicken wraps I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to try more of your recipes!
Heidi says
I’m so glad you loved it, Erik! It’s such a simple, delicious dinner… and the buffalo chicken wraps sound amazing!
Jana says
Hi Heidi!
Have you tried this recipe using a different buffalo sauce instead of Frank’s?
Heidi says
Hi Jana ~ I’ve only ever made this with Frank’s, but I’m sure other Buffalo sauces would be yummy, too! If you try… let me know how it turns out! 🙂
sandra says
What could you use instead of packet ranch. It’s impossible to get in Ireland as are many of your prepacked ingredients
mike says
COPYCAT H.V. RANCH DRESSING MIX
1/2 cup dry buttermilk (can use regular powdered milk, but I’m not sure how that would affect taste/texture)
1 T. dried parsley flakes
1 tsp. instant minced onions
1 tsp. dill weed
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt (I didn’t add it)
1/4 tsp. pepper
Mallory Herman says
Hi, I was wondering if I can use the ranch dip mix instead of the seasoning? I grabbed that on accident!!
Heidi says
Hi Mallory ~ yes… that shouldn’t be a problem. ENJOY! 😉
Jenn says
Great recipe!!! My husband and I made it tonight and we shredded the chicken after it cooked and put it back in with the sauce mixture and had buffalo chicken tacos! Thanks for the inspiration and yummy meal!
Heidi says
Ooh ~ what a fun idea, Jenn!
Candace says
This was excellent!!! I shredded the chicken and made sandwiches. After the 3 hour cook time, I shredded the chicken and then added the sauce, letting it cook for the 30 mins. YUMMY!!!!!
Heidi says
I’m so glad you liked it, Candace!! 😉
BSKYM says
could you put the chicken in with the sauces and cook on low, instead of cooking chicken first and then adding sauces?
Nikki says
I cook mine with the sauces in on low for four hours. I used chicken tenders not breast and it was still awesome. I really enjoyed this recipe.
amanda says
I am so new to the crock pot experience!! So I know this sounds silly, but when it says to cook the chicken for three hours, what do you cook it IN? Water? Broth? I worry about boiling it or making it too salty….
Heidi says
Hi Amanda ~ you’ll just cook the chicken by itself… the chicken will end up cooking in its own juices. No water or broth is necessary. Hope that helps! 😉
amanda says
ALOT!!! Thank you!
Taylor says
Your recipes are so simple I love them! Want to make this one tonight have to run and get the right sauce. Do you mix in the whole bottle?
Heidi says
Aww ~ thanks, Taylor! Yes… I used the whole bottle. ENJOY!! 😉
alma warner says
Love your recipes they are Delicious!!!!!!
Heidi says
Aww ~ thank you, Alma! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the recipes! 😉
Tiffany says
Hi, do any of your recipes have an 8 hour cook time? I’d love to be able to cook frozen chicken while I’m at work.
Heidi says
Hi Tiffany ~ for all of these crockpot recipes that cook on ‘High’, you can usually just double the cooking time and cook on ‘Low’. Hope that helps! 😉
Jen says
Made this and it was fabulous! I added a block of reduced fat cream cheese for a creamy sauce. Yum! Thank you for the recipe! 🙂
Heidi says
Ooh ~ great idea, Jen… that sounds like a delicious twist! 😉
Tabs says
I was JUST thinking about doing that! So glad I checked the comments and so glad it worked, totally making this tonight!
