Nina says
I couldn’t find the whipped cream cheese! How much of a difference will it be with regular cream cheese?
Heidi says
Hi Nina ~ hmm… you could try bringing your regular cream cheese to room temperature and then whipping it with a hand or stand mixer to turn it into more of a whipped consistency. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!
Nina says
Will do! Also after looking at the picture the cream cheese tub is a 16 oz but your direction s say 8..
Heidi says
Wonderful! Also, it’s actually just an 8 oz. tub featured in the photo, so yes… 8 oz. of whipped cream cheese is all you’ll need. 🙂
Savannah says

Can you make this in the slow cooker? Dying to try this!
Heidi says
Hi Charley… yes you can make it in your crock pot, and it’s delicious! Just spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray, layer the ingredients like in this recipe, and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4 hours. ENJOY! 🙂
Sandy says
It’s 2 hours for both high or low?
Heidi says
Hi Sandy… sorry about that! 🙂 If you’re making it in the crockpot, it will be HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4 hours. You can get step-by-step instructions for that here: https://diythrill.com/2020/05/11/crockpot-strawberry-cheesecake-dump-cake-recipe/
RYAN M RIZZARDI says
do you store leftovers in the fridge? want to make day before for holiday meal
Heidi says
Hi Ryan – for this particular recipe it really is better to make it the day of the meal. Hope that helps! 🙂
Fan says
Love love the dump cake. I even made it half half putting a wrapped foiled cardboard in the middle. I couldn’t decide blueberry or cherry.
Carrie says
I understand it is best to make day of . But should it be refrigerated if not able to make the day of .
Heidi says
Hi Carrie… yes, because it has cream cheese as an ingredient, you’ll want to refrigerate whatever you don’t eat that day. Hope that helps!
Sarah says
Can you use fresh strawberries instead?
Heidi says
Hi Sarah ~ I haven’t tried yet, but if you do… let us know how it turns out!
Erica says
The pictures show dollops of cream cheese, but the recipe says to spread it. I’m just curious if I need to try to spread that cream cheese or if you just meant spread the dollops out evenly across the pie filling.
Thanks.
Heidi says
Hi Erica ~ yes… you’ll just lay out the dollops evenly across the pie filling. Sorry for the confusion… and enjoy your dump cake! 🙂
Sabrina P says
Made this with extra cherry pie filling and added about 1/2 box white cake mix. Freaking Devine! Thanks Doll!
