Another delicious recipe from Frugal Girls! My Husband and I really enjoyed this easy recipe warm from the oven for dessert last night. Keep up the good work Heidi and thank you so much for this keeper recipe!
Aww… thank you so much, Rosemary – you’re so sweet! I’m so glad to hear you and your husband enjoyed this tasty treat last night! 🙂
I couldn’t find the whipped cream cheese! How much of a difference will it be with regular cream cheese?
Hi Nina ~ hmm… you could try bringing your regular cream cheese to room temperature and then whipping it with a hand or stand mixer to turn it into more of a whipped consistency. If you give it a try, let me know how it turns out!
Will do! Also after looking at the picture the cream cheese tub is a 16 oz but your direction s say 8..
Wonderful! Also, it’s actually just an 8 oz. tub featured in the photo, so yes… 8 oz. of whipped cream cheese is all you’ll need. 🙂
I want to try this for thanksgiving. Do you think this could work for apple or pumpkin?

Can you make this in the slow cooker? Dying to try this!
Hi Charley… yes you can make it in your crock pot, and it’s delicious! Just spray the inside of your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray, layer the ingredients like in this recipe, and cook on HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4 hours. ENJOY! 🙂
It’s 2 hours for both high or low?
Hi Sandy… sorry about that! 🙂 If you’re making it in the crockpot, it will be HIGH for 2 hours, or LOW for 4 hours. You can get step-by-step instructions for that here: https://diythrill.com/2020/05/11/crockpot-strawberry-cheesecake-dump-cake-recipe/
do you store leftovers in the fridge? want to make day before for holiday meal
Hi Ryan – for this particular recipe it really is better to make it the day of the meal. Hope that helps! 🙂
Love love the dump cake. I even made it half half putting a wrapped foiled cardboard in the middle. I couldn’t decide blueberry or cherry.
I understand it is best to make day of . But should it be refrigerated if not able to make the day of .
Hi Carrie… yes, because it has cream cheese as an ingredient, you’ll want to refrigerate whatever you don’t eat that day. Hope that helps!
Can you use fresh strawberries instead?
Hi Sarah ~ I haven’t tried yet, but if you do… let us know how it turns out!
