Aimsly writes: "Delicious and incredibly easy!"
You see… I grew up with raspberries growing in my backyard. They were fresh and juicy, just begging to be picked every Summer!
Now I took my job seriously… if the raspberries were ripe, I was the first in line to be “helpful” and go pick them.
I picked and picked and picked, and pretty much popped every single one straight into my mouth.
For some odd reason, my parents weren’t as impressed with my berry picking skills when I would head back up to the kitchen with about 8 measly little berries. They were the rejects of course… all others had already been secretly devoured! 🙂
Still to this day, raspberries are a daily indulgence in my lunchtime smoothie. Some obsessions never change!
So if you’re obsessed with those sweet, sun-drenched raspberries as much as I am, this easy raspberry dump cake recipe is for YOU!
It’s purely fruity, absolutely tart, and 100% divine!
The sweet raspberries and delightfully warm buttery crumble cake mix topping create the ultimate dreamy dessert. It’s kind of like a cake mix cobbler or crumble, and very similar to what you’ll get when you make my easy Strawberry Dump Cake, dreamy Peach Cream Cheese Dump Cake or creamy, tart Key Lime Pie Dump Cake.
So what are you waiting for? Whether it’s a busy night and you need a treat, or it’s party time and your guests are dreaming of dessert… Dump Cake Recipes like this are prepared to serve up rich indulgence less the effort!
Here’s what you’ll need to get started…

Like so many of my popular Easy Cake Dessert Recipes, you’ll also need a 9×13 baking dish to prepare this raspberry dump cake.

How Do You Tell If A Dump Cake Is Done?
To start, simply follow my easy raspberry cobbler recipe instructions for how to assemble your dump cake.
Then pop your baking dish into the oven and let it bake.
You’ll know your raspberry dump cake is done when the crumble topping starts to brown.
Also, the lower layer of raspberry pie filling will start to bubble up through the sides of your cake mix and butter crumble topping. It’s a beautiful sight because now your dump cake is done! See… I told you this was going to be EASY!!
Do You Stir A Dump Cake?
For this easy 3 ingredient berry dump cake, very little stirring is required.
The only ingredients you will need to combine by stirring are the cake mix and the melted butter. You will stir these 2 ingredients together until they create a crumbly mixture, that you will then evenly sprinkle over the top of the raspberry pie filling.

my local Kroger also only sees to stock apple and cherry pie filling. I learned to make this great dessert while working as head chef at a nursing home in Oregon, in the late 90’s. We ALL loved it, staff and residents alike and I usually made it once a week. The combinations were endless. I never used pie filling or butter; just canned fruit and a cake mix. I’m looking forward to trying one with butter tomorrow. Can’t go wrong adding butter, right?
Butter makes everything better! 🙂
Here in Canada, Red Lobster used to have a Raspberry Cobbler on the dessert menu. It was incredibly yummy, and I believe was served with whip cream. My Oma and I used to go for dinner at RL, and this dessert became one of my favourites. I have been looking for a Copycat recipe for years, and never could figure out how this was made. Oma’s been gone over 10 years now, but I’ve never forgotten going out with her so many times.
Last weekend, I was thinking of Dump Cakes, and wondered what a raspberry one would look like. The pictures that came up when I Googled it convinced me to try making this. The smell as it was baking brought me right back, and I almost cried as I tasted it. It was a huge hit with my kids, and this weekend, I made one with apple pie filling …my husband loved it (he wouldn’t eat the raspberry one).
Who would have thought 3 simple ingredients would make something so delicious?
Aww ~ what a sweet memory that is… thanks so much for sharing! I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed the Raspberry Cobbler. I love it with the Apple Pie filling too, the options really are endless! 🙂
This looks so good! I cannot wait to try!
Thank you, Blair! It’s SO easy to make and crazy delicious. Enjoy! 😉
Ooh looks very tasty! I remember my grandma used to make dump cakes back in the 60’s and thye were so good, I had forgotten how easy they are to make. Our local kroger never has any pie fillings in cans besides cherry or apple. I wish they would stock more goodies. I really didn’t know you could even buy raspberry pie filling. 🙂
If your local grocery store doesn’t sell raspberry pie filling, you can substitute or homemade pie filling… or even purchase on Amazon. Hope that helps!
Looks so easy and delicious!
Thanks, Emma… it’s SO yummy ~ hope you love it! 🙂
