My Thrifty Shopping Trips {Look what $4.65 can buy!}

March 12, 2010 By Heidi 10 Comments

I may get paid for ads or purchases made through links in this post.

There were so many great deals this week, weren’t there?

At Wal-Mart, I was able to get 1 Free Package of Kotex {using a $1/1 coupon from the Kotex samples}, a Free Reach Floss {using $1/1 coupon from the 3/7 RedPlum insert}, a Free Rimmel Mascara {using $3/1 coupon from March All You issue}.

I also stocked up on some thrifty card games {24 cents each after $4.00 off Monopoly Coupons}.  I had also brought along three $4/1 Connect 4 Coupons… and was so excited to see that my Wal-Mart had these games marked down to $5.00 ~ making them just $1.00 each after the coupons!  These games will make great additions to my stash of thrifty gifts I keep in the closet. 🙂

Total Spent = 3.96!
At Target, I used the $1/1 Johnson’s Coupons as well as some from the newspaper to get 6 Free Buddies Soaps, and the $1/1 Tide coupon from the 3/7 P&G insert to get a Free sample-size Tide!  Then I used a $1.50/1 coupon I received in the mail from VocalPoint for the Kellogg’s Fruit Snacks.
Total Spent = 69 cents!

At Fry’s {Kroger}, I used three $1/1 Reach coupons to score 3 Free Toothbrushes!

Total Spent = $0.00!

How did you do on your grocery shopping this week? Did you stretch your dollars and find some thrifty deals?

Leave a comment ~ I’d love to hear!

@Christy ~ my Target carries the sample-size Tide in the beauty travel-size section.

@Val ~ If you have any trouble using the coupons at Wal-Mart, I’d suggest trying Target. They also have the card games for $5.24.

    Hope this helps!

Wow! Is all I can say. You gals rock! I don’t think I’ve gotten anything as fab as that… Well, I did just order a Dr. Seuss book for .78 cents and free shipping from DiscountBookSales.com. (My son has a project for school.) LOL… that’s as close as I’ve gotten to your splendor! 🙂 I wish I could do that each week. That’s a gift in organization and diligence.

I always have trouble finding the sample sizes of Tide … where in Target are they located? Are you finding them in your sample aisle or actually on the Tide/laundry detergent aisle? Thank you!!

My walmart did NOT have the Connect4 games marked down, but I did find the Monopoly games priced at $4. I went to Target, where they had the Connect4 on sale for $10, and there are the $4 off coupons AND $3 off Target coupons, so I stacked those. 🙂 Still $3, but with 6 birthday parties coming up in the next 3 weeks, I am not complaining!! I also went to Rite Aid, where I got $90 worth of products for 83 cents, plus I am getting a $3 SCR, so really I am getting paid about $2.20! This is in addition to a trip there on Sunday that garnered me about $112 in products for about $9 oop and $20 in SCRs and giftcards (for P&G products!). So I basically got about $200 worth of stuff for $10, and am getting PAID $22 after rebates, which makes me $10! Woohoo! Rite Aid might just be my new favorite store. 🙂

My walmart had the monopoly card games for $4 each. I got paid $1 each! I still had to pay tax, though.

My “super star shopping” trip this week totaled $2.08 with crazy CA tax. I ended up with 1 free Hallmark kids card (perfect for a birthday party next week!), 2 Monopoly card games and 6 bars of Johnson’s Buddies soap. Oh, and at Hallmark I received a survey receipt that will get me $2 off my next purchase, which means another free card if I get one of the new kid’s cards for $1.99!

Sprout’s in AZ has 5-lb boxes of Cutie oranges on sale for $2.99. Use a $1 off coupon that you can print once you become of fan on Facebook or there were $1 coupons in the newspaper a few weeks ago, and get 5-lbs of oranges for $1.99 (that’s less than $.40/pound!)
