Tried it with the family tonight. There are 5 of us, and we like a lot of sauce, so I’ll be doubling the recipe next time. I also found some marked down butternut squash, so I sauteed that with some fresh spinach and put it on top. Rotisserie chicken was in sale, too, and cost less than raw breasts, so that was a tasty and frugal alternative, along with the veggie noodles I used.

I sent my husband to the store for a carton of heavy cream to make some ganache. He returned with four cartons – they were on sale. So I doubled the recipe and made this tonight for some chicken and mushroom Alfredo pasta. I added some hot pepper and parsley as well and it turned out fabulous. Thanks!

      Hi Dana,

It really is best when served immediately, otherwise the ingredients begin to separate. Hope that helps!

Good recipe. I don’t know if people realize how easy it is to make a good homemade Alfredo sauce, so it’s good to see nice simply recipe like this. As a variation to this recipe, you could melt in provolone and cut the parmesan in 1/2. It gives it even creamer but does have a stronger flavor. Thanks for sharing!
