Is it possible to use Alfredo sauce instead of the red pasta sauce?
Absolutely! Here’s a recipe for Crockpot Alfredo Tortellini…
https://thefrugalgirls.com/2017/12/crockpot-alfredo-tortellini.html
That’s exactly what I was hoping to see. Thank you. I have an intolerance for tomato based sauce. I’m trying this for dinner tomorrow with a nice salad. Thank you!!!
You’re very welcome, Lynn! 🙂 A salad sounds like the perfect side!
I don’t have refrigerated tortellini it is the kind you keep in pantry. Will that still work?
Hi Kris,
This recipe works best with refrigerated tortellini. You could try cooking up your dry tortellini to use in this recipe, but keep an eye on the cook time as it will be done faster. If you give it a try, let me know how it goes!
I have a 4 quart crock pot can you please advise me on what the recipe would look like using that size? Thank you!!
Hi Kristin ~ this will work in a 4 quart crockpot. Is your slow cooker oval or round? If it’s a 4 quart round, you just may need to add an extra set of layers when you’re assembling it prior to cooking. Hope that helps!
You don’t need to cook the pasta prior to layering it in the crock pot?
Hi Amy ~ correct… you won’t need to cook the pasta prior to layering it in the crock pot. Enjoy!! 😉
I want to add sausage to this. Should I precook it? Or can it go in raw?
Hi Kelsey ~ you’ll want to precook it first. That sounds like a delicious addition! 🙂
What if your using frozen tortellini is there a difference in cook time ?
Hi Ashley ~ I would just allow it to thaw first. If you don’t have time to let it thaw, then you’ll need to lengthen the cook time a bit, to ensure it has time to get hot. Hope that helps!
