Raven D. says
First off, I’ve made several of your recipes including this one and they are all awesome! I am thinking of trying to double this recipe tonight, do you think it will turn out ok if the pork chops (8) overlap each other in the crockpot?
Heidi says
Hi Raven ~ I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying the recipes! If using 8 pork chops, I would opt for cooking in 2 separate crockpots if you’re able to. Otherwise, a larger crockpot {like an 8 quart} would work best. I’ve tried stacking meat in a 6 quart crockpot and it took several hours longer to get done, and definitely didn’t cook as nicely as when they’re put in just a single layer. Hope that helps! 🙂
Michal says
I am substituting chicken for the chops….thought I had some and I did not, hope it goes well…..
Heidi says
Hi Michal – if using chicken, here is an easy recipe to follow. Hope this helps! 🙂

Heidi says
I’m so glad to hear you all loved it, Cathy! It’s definitely a family favorite here, too. 🙂
Candace says
Hi I don’t have the chicken broth on hand. Could we just cook the pork chops in the crock pot and then do the mixture over them. Would it make a huge difference.
Heidi says
Hi Candace… the chicken broth infuses quite a bit of flavor into the pork chops, but in a pinch, you could just use water. Hope that helps!
Erin says
Is there a way to make this in a insta pot?
Heidi says
Hi Erin ~ I haven’t ever tried this in the Instant Pot, but if you do… let me know how it turns out!
Lindsey says
Can you use bone in pork chops for this?
Ren says
I did
Rocky D says
I’m your recipe it says to drain the juices after the 3.5 hour mark. Then it says to mix the French onion and sour cream together. Does this mixture also include the drained juices? Sorry if it sounds dumb. I want to get this right. Thanks!
Heidi says
Hi Rocky ~ you’ll drain and discard the juices from the crockpot. Then you’ll add the French Onion / Sour Cream sauce mixture. By doing this you’ll end up with a much thicker and more flavorful sauce, as it won’t be diluted. Hope that helps!
Kelly says
We are moving across the country and will be bringing our crockpot. Are there meals like your French Onion porkchop recipe that we could include rice so that it is a one pot meal?
Terri G. says
What would you suggest for sides for this dish? Thanks in advance!
Heidi says
Hi Terri,
To pair with the Pork Chops, I love to make these https://thefrugalgirls.com/2014/10/bacon-lovers-loaded-smashed-potatoes.html or these https://thefrugalgirls.com/2009/12/heavenly-hashbrown-casserole-recipe.html plus a side salad.
Hope these ideas are helpful ~ Heidi
