It takes just 3 simple ingredients to make the BEST Brown Sugar Barbecue Chicken!

Just add the following to your next grocery list, so you have everything on hand to make yours…

  • Chicken Breasts
  • Hickory BBQ Sauce
  • Brown Sugar
  • *optional: store bought or homemade Hamburger Slider Buns if you’ll be making it into BBQ chicken sliders.

Like with most of my Easy Crockpot Recipes, you’ll also need a 5 – 6 quart Crock Pot to get the job done.

How To Make Crockpot Hickory BBQ Chicken

It’s actually SO easy to prepare this tempting hickory bbq chicken in your slow cooker.

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Cook your chicken in your crockpot, and then drain and discard the juices.

2. Remove your chicken from the crockpot, and shred using one of these 4 Easy Ways To Shred Meat.

3. Place the shredded chicken back in the crockpot and pour the sauce mixture over your chicken.

4. Thoroughly combine the sauce and chicken, and continue cooking until done.

5. Once done, serve it up and enjoy every last wonderful bite!

Ingredients 

  • 3 lbs. Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts, fresh or thawed
  • 18 oz. Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce, (1 bottle)
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar

Instructions 

  • Cook chicken in Crock Pot on HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours (covered)
  • After 3 hours on HIGH or 6 hours on LOW, drain juices from crockpot.
  • Remove chicken and shred with 2 forks, then transfer back to crockpot.
  • In bowl, mix together entire contents of BBQ sauce bottle and brown sugar.
  • Pour sauce mixture over the chicken, stir well, and cook on high for 30 more minutes (covered), or until done. Serve on buns and ENJOY!

    My chicken is frozen.. will it still work if I cook on high for the 6 hours?
