- Butter: When it comes to this snickerdoodle cookie recipe, salted or unsalted butter can be used, as the cake mix will have a little salt in it. However, I’ve found that salted butter will result in superior flavor.

Can these be made with sugar free cake mix?
Hi Debbie ~ I honestly haven’t tried this recipe that way, but if you do… let me know how they turn out! I’d love to hear!
So glad I found this. I had done this Demo many years ago and absolutely loved it. I created many different varieties of cookies for the holidays as gifts. Since these were so simple and made so many it was the perfect gift and it became a tradition. My family loved all the different varieties and how simple it was. The kids even enjoyed helping. Ever since I moved I have lost things and my recipe box is one of the most important things. So thank you again for sharing these recipes.
You’re very welcome, Lora! I’m so sorry to hear you lost your recipe box, but am so glad that you stumbled upon this easy recipe again to continue on your traditions! 🙂
Yes I have made these several times. ….always a favorite. This is how I am doing all of my cookies this year. Just made peanut butter & added a small pb chocolate chip to the top. Am making fun fetti next. As an amputee quick ^ easy works the best as it means shorter time in my w/c.
Love these, so easy to make. Followed the recipe exactly. Can’t wait to try others on your site. Thanks!
Aww… thanks, Sharon! I’m so glad to hear you loved the snickerdoodles! 🙂
Hello! Good cookie, I used butter flavored Crisco, which I melted instead of the oil. I also tossed in a table of white vanilla. I will make these again, and I am strictly a scratch cook.
So glad you liked them, Laurie!

You’re very welcome!
