I’ve got fairly long hair, and am always on the hunt for fun new Hair and Makeup Tips and Tricks!
The ends of my hair can get a little dry and frizzy though, so I was SO excited when I saw Bethany Hamilton mention how well coconut oil has worked to condition her hair!
Why not, I thought… why not?!? So I gave it a try, and here’s what works best for me…
Before you head to bed… simply apply just a dab, or a smidge, or whatever you’d like to call it on your fingers… then rub it in to the ends of your hair when your hair is dry. A little bit goes a LONG way. Think of it as a leave-in overnight conditioner, then you can wash it out the next day. {use it as often as you’d like to, or whenever you notice your hair needs some added oil}
Now, you won’t need to apply coconut oil to your roots, etc ~ you’ll just end up with a greasy look. Just the last few inches or ends of your hair will do! I love how well it works for my hair… give it a try and hopefully it will work well for yours, too!

I have recently discovered coconut oil and I love it! My favorite use is for shaving my legs. I rub it on and my legs get a nice close shave and my skin is protected from nicks. I also make a sugar scrub to use in the shower.
I tried it on my baby’s bad eczema after all the prescription creams and ointments failed to do anything for him. It was the best thing ever! It cleared up within a few days and now I use it as a lotion on him after his bath (when he used to get the worst flare ups) and for the last 2 months or so he hasn’t had a single patch anywhere. I also use it on my dry hands and cuticles and on the ends of my hair. It’s fabulous stuff and a jar of it lasts forever!
