Now growing up in Seattle, I ate a LOT of seafood, and tartar sauce was always my favorite dip.
I even remember going to the dentist when I was 7 years old, and the dentist saying: “Uh-oh… it looks like you have a little tartar.”
I instantly burst into tears, and between sniffles asked him if it was maybe because I’d eaten too much tartar sauce? He laughed, I was confused, and things got a little awkward for a few minutes there. 🙂
Anyhoo… thanks to all of the amazing seafood restaurants on every corner, I was spoiled with some pretty amazing tartar sauce!
Once I moved to Arizona, I thought I could just grab some from the grocery store and it would taste just the same.
