I have sage ( yum Chicken and Veal Saltilubucco) and greek oregano growing in a flower pot outside. With a frost coming any day in Maine now I’m going to try your technique. Wish the deer didn’t eat my basil.

I love growing sage and oregano too, Lenore. That’s so sad that the deer eat your basil! I grow basil really well here in Arizona, but our biggest challenge is to keep the bunnies away. 🙂

Surprisingly, I grow sage in a little pot in my herb garden each summer and I don’t believe I have ever once used it nor do I really know what to do with it (I’m vegan). I grow it along with all my other herbs with the best of intentions. Thanks for this post- I’ll dry it and at least save it for a possible recipe. Love this easy method.
Heidi says
