  2. Debbie says:

I tried your chilly last weekend and it was delicious. I have been looking for something that comes close to my mom’s recipe and this was it!! She has been gone almost 18 years and my first bite of this chili, well she came to mind right away. I used it to make over the top chili. Put it in the crock pot for a couple hours then on the smoker with my meat made like a meat loaf over the top on a baking rack and let the juices run into the chili and smoked it for about 2 hours then chopped the meat up into the chili and it was absolutely delicious.

    1. Heidi says:

I’m so glad you loved it, Debbie… and that it reminded you of your mom’s chili! I’m liking the sounds of smoked over-the-top chili – what a creative idea! 🙂

  4. Alaina says:

    Good morning!
Have you ever made this without the ground beef?

    1. Heidi says:

I honestly have not made it this way. You could try adding some extra beans to compensate for the lack of beef, so the chili would not have too much liquid.

If you do give it a try, please let me know how it goes.

      ~ Heidi
