Have you tried this using a liner and “handles” made from foil? Also, do you put paper towels on the inside of lid to prevent water from dripping on cake?
Crystal says
Wonder if this could be done in the new casserole crockpot.
Heidi says
Hi Crystal ~ I honestly haven’t tried in the casserole shaped crockpot, but I’m guessing it would work. If you give it a try, let us know how it turns out!
Jenny says
The cake turned out great! I didn’t have any applesauce so I cut up a few apples and cooked them with a little apple cider. The cake is so moist and delicious!
Heidi says
Way to be creative, Jenny… that’s a great idea! So glad you loved the cake! 🙂
Mayra says

Erin says
I’m wondering if raisins could be added to the mix?

Sue says
What size slow cooker? Which brand do you prefer? Have you noticed them cooking WAY too hot and fast?
Heidi says
Hi Sue ~ a 5qt. to 6qt. Slow Cooker works great for this recipe. I have used a few different brands over the years, but my favorites are the Crock Pot or Hamilton Beach brands. Hope that helps! 🙂
