Today we are going to let Betty Crocker make the chocolate crinkle cookie mix for us!

That means it will take just 4 simple ingredients to create these Chocolate Crinkle Cookies made with cake mix…

  • Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix (the chocolate crinkle cookies mix)
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Melted Butter (or Vegetable or Canola Oil)
  • Eggs

It really doesn’t get much easier than a 4 ingredient Betty Crocker chocolate crinkle cookie!

How To Make Chocolate Crinkle Cookies with Powdered Sugar

Treat yourself to the very BEST Chocolate Crinkle cookie when you follow these simple step-by-step instructions.

This is how to make old fashioned chocolate crinkles the easy way…

1. Prepare the dough by combining the ingredients in large mixing bowl, and mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.

2. Cover dough and chill in refrigerator, and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

3. After dough has chilled, preheat your oven, and form cookie dough into balls.

4. After each cookie dough ball is formed, roll each ball in powdered sugar until well coated. (see recipe for my tricks)

5. Bake cookies, cool on wire racks, and ENJOY!

Chocolate Crinkle Cookies Recipe with Cake Mix (4 ingredients)

Ingredients

  • 13.25 ounces Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
  • 1/3 cup Melted Butter (Vegetable or Canola Oil can be substituted)
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2/3 cup Powdered Sugar

Instructions

  • Gather your ingredients.
  • Combine Cake Mix, Melted Butter (or oil), and Eggs in large mixing bowl, and mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.
    Kitchenaid Mixer
  • Cover dough and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • After dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll cookie dough into 1 tablespoon sized rounded balls.
  • Then roll each ball in powdered sugar until well coated. (The key to perfect crinkles is small dough balls with lots of powdered sugar coating them.)
  • Transfer cookie dough balls to cookie sheet.
  • Bake on center oven rack for 7 - 13 minutes, or until done. (Note: Bake on the shorter end of the time range for non-stick cookie sheets & longer end of the time range for aluminum cookie sheets.)
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes.

  • Transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling, and ENJOY!

  • Butter: When it comes to Cake Mix Cookies, salted or unsalted butter can be used, as the cake mix will have a little salt in it. However, I've found that salted butter will result in superior flavor.

        Hi Aimee ~ no… you will not want to follow the instructions on the box. Those are for making a cake. No water is needed. If making cake mix cookies, just follow the instructions on my recipe. Hope that helps! 🙂
