You’ll love this Crockpot Cheesy Bacon Hashbrowns Recipe!  It’s so simple, and SO good!



What You’ll Need:

  • 1 pkg Frozen Shredded Hashbrowns {typical pkg size: 1 lb. 14 oz.}
  • 16 oz. Sour Cream
  • 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 8oz. Package Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1/2 Chopped White Onion
  • 1/2 stick of Butter, melted
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 1/8 tsp. Pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. Garlic Salt
  • 8 – 10 Slices Cooked Bacon, chopped {see tips for cooking Perfect Crispy Bacon!}

What You’ll Do:

  • Thaw hash browns slightly so they mix well.
  • Combine hash browns, sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, shredded cheese, milk, onion, salt, pepper, garic salt, and melted butter in large mixing bowl, and stir well.
  • Spray crockpot
  • Transfer stirred mixture into crockpot.
  • Cook on high for 3 hours, or until done, stirring occasionally.
  • When serving, top each portion with chopped cooked bacon.
  • ENJOY!!

    This recipe sounds yummy! I have one question though. Maybe I am overlooking it, but I don’t see where you are supposed to add the cheese in the instructions. I assume it goes in with all the other ingredients?

      Oopsy ~ sorry about that, Sandra! Yes… you’ll add the cheese and stir when combining all other of the main ingredients. I’ve corrected the instructions above. Thanks for letting me know! ;) ENJOY!!

    What would you suggest subbing for the cream of mushrum soup? My father and I are allergic!

      You can add cream of “anything” soup to replace the cream of mushroom, if it’s the mushrooms you are allergic to. I have made cheesy hash-brown casserole with both cream of chicken, and cream of celery, because that’s what I had on hand, and it works too.

      I have never thought to add bacon to hash-brown casserole…..definitely going to try this! I might even add it to the top with a little extra cheese for the last 15 minutes of the cooking time!!
