Just add these to your next Walmart grocery store run to make sure you have everything on hand…

  • Funfetti Cake Mix – I made these Funfetti cookies using Pillsbury Cake mix.
  • M&M’s Minis – Regular M&M’s can be substituted.
  • Butter – Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil can be substituted.
  • Eggs

How to Make Funfetti Cookies

You won’t believe how EASY it is to bake up a batch of the BEST Funfetti Cake Box Cookies in your oven!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Mix up your funfetti cookie dough.

2. Stir in the M&M’s with a large spoon.

3. Then chill your cookie dough in the refrigerator.

4. After dough has chilled, roll dough into small balls, and place on cookie sheet.

5. Bake in the oven.

6. Then allow to cool on wire racks prior to serving.

Once cooled, Enjoy & DEVOUR!

Make Ahead Baking Tips

These fabulous Funfetti cake mix cookies are SO easy to prep ahead of time!

Your Funfetti cake mix cookie dough can be made whenever you have time, then stored covered in the refrigerator up to 2 days prior to baking them.

How to Store Cake Mix Cookies

After your Funfetti cookies have finished baking and completely cooling, they can be stored on the kitchen counter at room temperature for up to 3 days, covered in an airtight container.

You can use this Funfetti cookies recipe to create the most festive and fun gifts in a jar to give to your family and friends.

It’s actually crazy easy to make this adorable cookie in a jar gift.

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Carefully empty entire contents of cake mix package into your jar.

2. Gently pack down.

3. Pour in M&M’s.

4. Put the silver jar topper on top, place a round paper doilie on top, then screw on the jar’s lid.

5. Cut a piece of ribbon and wrap around the center of your jar with a bow, and you’re done!

You can also plan ahead by making this right now. This cookie mix can be made up to 4 weeks ahead of time, and stored in a pantry or cool, dark cupboard.

Attach a label (or add the instructions to the top of the jar’s lid) with the following baking instructions:

1. Whisk together 2 Eggs + 1/2 cup Melted Butter in large bowl.

2. Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.

3. Chill dough in refrigerator for 2 hours.

4. Form cookie dough balls & bake on parchment lined cookie sheets.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 7 – 13 minutes, or until done.

Ingredients 

  • 15.25 ounces Pillsbury Funfetti Cake Mix , (if using a 13.25 oz box, reduce butter to 1/3 cup)
  • 1/2 cup Melted Butter, (Vegetable or Canola Oil can be substituted)
  • 1 large Eggs
  • 9.4 ounces Mini M&M’s, (about 1 1/4 cups)

Instructions 

  • Gather your ingredients.

  • Combine Cake Mix, Melted Butter (or oil), and Eggs in large mixing bowl, and mix with hand mixer or stand mixer until well combined.
  • Stir in Mini M&M’s with large wooden spoon.
  • Cover dough and chill in refrigerator for 2 hours.
  • After dough has chilled, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line large baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Roll cookie dough into 1 1/2 tablespoon sized rounded balls and transfer to cookie sheet.
  • Bake on center oven rack for 7 – 13 minutes, or until done. (Note: Bake on the shorter end of the time range for non-stick cookie sheets & longer end of the time range for aluminum cookie sheets.)
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes.
  • Transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling, and ENJOY!

Notes

  • Butter: When baking up a batch of Funfetti Cake Mix Cookies, either salted or unsalted butter can be used, as the cake mix does come with some salt in it. Yet, I’ve found that by using salted butter, you’ll achieve a superior flavor.
