What You’ll Need To Make this Chocolate Peanut Butter M&M Cookie Mix in a Jar:

  • 1 box Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix {15.25 oz.}
  • 1 bag Peanut Butter M&M’s {11.4 oz.} – you’ll use approx. 3/4 of the M&M’s.
  • 1 quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar
  • Scrapbook Paper or a Brown Paper Bag
  • Ribbon or Twine for a bow, and embellishments.

Instructions:

  1. Carefully pour the contents of the cake mix package into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar, and gently pat down the top.
  2. Pour in approx. 3/4 of the M&M’s bag.  {I layered by color} – you can save the rest of the M&M’s to snack on yourself! 😉
  3. Put the silver jar topper on top, place a round scrap of scrapbook paper {or brown paper bag cut into a circle} on top, then screw on the jar’s lid.  {or you could use a doilie like I did here}
  4. Wrap ribbon or twine around the silver lid, or around the middle of the jar.
  5. Optional: If you’ve got a Silhouette, you could even print the words ‘Cookie Mix’ like I did here.

Attach a Label with Baking Instructions:

  • Attach a label {or you can add the instructions to the top of the jar’s lid} with the following baking instructions.
  • Beat together 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.
  • Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.
  • Chill dough for 45 minutes – 1 hour in the refrigerator prior to baking.
  • Then, drop onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet in rounded balls.
  • Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes {or until done} at 350 degrees.
