All you’ll need are these simple ingredients…

Ingredients

You’ll just need 3 simple ingredients to make the BEST crockpot bbq shredded pork!

  • Pork Tenderloin – Fresh or thawed, just like I use with my Crock Pot Pork Tenderloin Tacos.
  • Barbecue Sauce – Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce works outstanding in this recipe!
  • Coca-Cola – The SECRET ingredient that will send it over the top! It adds the perfect kiss of sweetness, while keeping your slow cooker bbq pulled pork ridiculously tender! (Dr. Pepper or Root Beer can be substituted.)

Optional…

  • White Onion – This is optional. If you choose to add an onion, it will cook down to infuse and elevate the meat with a most wonderful sweet and savory bite.
  • Hamburger Buns – If making pulled pork sandwiches, these Easy Hamburger Buns will take your BBQ pulled pork sandwich to the next level!

How To Make BBQ Pulled Pork in a Slow Cooker

Trust me, when it comes to slow cooker bbq pork recipes, it doesn’t get any simpler or EASIER than this 3 Ingredient Crockpot Recipe!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. If you have two smaller tenderloins, place side by side in the slow cooker. If you have one large tenderloin, cut your pork loin in half and place the two pieces in your slow cooker.

2. Mix your sauce, then pour it over the pork loin before placing the lid on your slow cooker.

3. Cook the pork loin as specified, until done.

4. Remove the pork from your slow cooker and shred. (Use these tips for How to Shred Pulled Pork)

5. Once shredded, add the pork back to the slow cooker and mix with the remaining sauce. (I like to use tongs for this.)

6. Serve it up with a side of coleslaw, corn on the cob and BBQ beans… or on buns, topped with fresh coleslaw.

  • 3 pounds Pork Loin, or Pork Tenderloin
  • 18 ounces Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce, (1 bottle)
  • 1 1/2 cups Coca-Cola, (one 12 ounce can) – Dr. Pepper or Root Beer can be substituted.
  • ½ White Onion, sliced (optional)

Instructions 

  • Gather your bbq pulled pork ingredients.
    Ingredients to make bbq pulled pork in a slow cooker.
  • If using sliced onions, first place on the bottom of slow cooker.
  • If you have two smaller tenderloins, place in slow cooker. If you have one large tenderloin, cut your pork loin in half across width, trimming off any excess fat, and place the two pieces in your slow cooker. (or on top of sliced onions if using onions.)

  • Mix together BBQ Sauce and Coca-Cola in mixing bowl and stir well.
  • Pour BBQ Sauce and Coca-Cola mixture over Pork, and cover slow cooker.

  • Cook on LOW for 6 – 7 hours, or until done. (larger pieces will take longer to cook)
  • Remove from slow cooker, and shred on cutting board using 2 forks.
  • Then place shredded meat back in slow cooker, and toss with tongs to soak up all of that delicious sauce.
  • Serve on plates, burger buns, or slider buns, and drizzle with extra leftover sauce from the crockpot after shredded to keep moist. ENJOY!

Cooking Temperature: The secret to fork-tender pulled pork is to cook it low and slow. So be sure to only use the ‘LOW’ setting on your slow cooker. I promise it will be worth the wait!

    Great recipe! I cook just pork and coca cola, and shred. Then, I let my picky eaters add however much bbq sauce they’d like afterwards (or none at all)! A teriyaki sauce or adobo could be used instead to change up the flavor.
