  1. Suzanne says:

can this recipe work for cooking in the oven instead of a crockpot?

  2. kara moreland says:

Do you think I could cook it on warm all night? That way it’s ready first thing in the morning?

    1. Heidi says:

I’m guessing it may get overdone… but if you try, let me know how it goes! 😉

  3. Sharon says:

I am writing from Perth, Australia and was wondering if you could describe the Pilbury Grands Original Biscuits so I can see if I can find something similar here in Australia.

    1. Tiffany says:

So, The Grands are large biscuits that are wrapped in a tube, in the refrigerated foods section of the store. (Typically, near the milk, butter, cream cheese, etc.) they usually come 5 to a tube, near me at least. I’ve tried similar recipes with frozen biscuits–thaw them completely first, then quarter them and proceed with sugary fun–or, less conveniently but still delicious, you could use your own biscuit dough recipe, then portion out 1 to 2 tbsp dough per piece & roll gently into a ball. (You get a feel for the sizing after a few, and the 1 to 2 tbsp is just so you can decide how big a bite should be for you & yours 🙂 )

And now I’ve written a novel. :/ Sorry.

Anyway, smaller cooks faster, so keep that in mind, too big and they like to stay doughy in the middle. Hope this helps!

    2. deb says:

They are like scones. You might find something like them at Aldis

  4. Camille says:

Would this work cooking it on high instead of low to get it done faster?

    1. Jen says:

The recipe I saw said cook for 1.5 to 2 hrs on high

      1. Cynthia says:

The recipe posted above says 2.5 on low.

  5. Beth says:

Great list, thanks for posting! Sometimes I work over 40 hours a week, so the crockpot is my favorite way to cook!

    1. Heidi Miller says:

You’re very welcome… I’m so glad you’re enjoying the easy crockpot recipes!

  6. Jess says:

thinking of making this for a work event. Do you think it’s ok to have the crock pot running on warm to keep it’s warm & gooey goodness?

    1. Jess says:

So made this for the work function. I decided to cook it when I arrived. In the oval crockpot, it took about 4 hours on low to get the center cooked completely, but everyone seemed to love it.

      thanks 🙂

      1. Heidi Miller says:

I’m so glad to hear everyone loved it!

  7. Jeanette says:

When do you add the cream cheese ?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Jeanette ~ you can add the softened room temperature cream cheese for the last 30 minutes or so of cooking time. 😉

  8. Evelyn S says:

Does this recipe only work with a certain size crockpot? I have a very small one so I’m wondering if it’s okay to use the same measurements and just cook it in many layers in the pot?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Evelyn ~ it will work best and cook most evenly in a 5 – 6 quart Crockpot, with just one layer of the biscuits. Hope that helps!

  9. Joey says:

Have you ever doubled the recipe? Do you think it would work ? Thx! Trying this weekend!

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Joey ~ I actually haven’t ever tried doubling it. If you do, let me know how it turns out!

      1. Jen says:

Wondering if this worked out doubling the recipe?

  10. Heather! says:

I just made this. Holy wow incredible amazing!! This is one of the best things to ever come out of my kitchen! I did dress it up with about a third of a can of apple pie filling and about 1/4 cup of chopped walnuts, which just sent it over the top awesome. Definitely a keeper…THANK YOU!!

    1. Heidi says:

Aww ~ you’re very welcome, Heather! I’m so glad you liked it! I love the fun twist you put on it too… sounds delicious!

    2. Heather says:

Heather, did you add the pie filling & walnuts to the crock pot before you cooked it or on top afterwards? I would love to know because that does sound like a delicious twist on the already yummy recipe!
