Hi Kristi ~ they typically last a good 6 months+. Be sure to also check your ‘Better if Used By’ date on your box of cake mix too, for a more definite date of freshness. Hope that helps! 🙂

I notice many of the cake batter cookies say to refrigerate before baking. Does this recipe need it too, it is not in the directions, but I don’t want to miss a step if it is suppose to be there.

Thanks so much and I love your website… such fun ideas and super simple!!!

Aww ~ thanks for the sweet comment, Bridget! For this one… refrigerating the dough isn’t required, but it would be fine if you do so. Refrigerating for 30 minutes – 1 hour makes the dough a lot easier to work with. 🙂 ENJOY!

Hi Destiny ~ yes… the recipes can definitely be halved for pint jars.

Just make sure to update the instructions for cooking. 🙂 So… rather than “Beat together 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.” … you’ll want to say: “Beat together 1 egg and 1/4 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.”

Have fun making your gifts in a jar!! 🙂
