This easy recipe for green chili burritos is literally a how to guide for how to prepare shredded beef burritos… with as little effort as possible!

Just follow these simple steps:

1. Preheat your skillet, then cook your garlic and onion.

2. Add your Beef and Broth to the skillet.

3. Then bring to a boil, before reducing the heat and placing your tight fitting lid on the pan.

Ingredients 

  • 4 Flour Tortillas, (buritto size)
  • 1 lb Boneless Beef Chuck Roast, cut into large diced pieces
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup White Onion, finely diced
  • 3/4 cup Beef Broth
  • 1 cup Green Enchilada Sauce
  • 8 oz. Green Chiles, (two 4 oz. cans)
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper
  • *optional: Hot Sauce, (your favorite brand)

Instructions 

  • On medium heat, pre-heat a large skillet with a tight fitting lid.
  • Heat your Olive Oil, then add Onion and Garlic and sauté for 1-3 minutes, until your garlic is fragrant and onions are translucent in color.
  • Add your large diced pieces of Beef Chuck Roast and Beef Broth to the skillet.

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and place the tight fitting lid on your skillet.
  • Simmer for 6-8 hours, or until the meat is very tender.
  • Once the meat is tender, shred or pull the meat right in the pot.
  • Then add the Chiles, Enchilada Sauce, Salt, Pepper and optional Hot Sauce.
  • Increase the heat to medium and simmer for 8-10 minutes, or until the sauce has reduced and thickened.
  • Heat your tortillas, then fill with 4 equal portions of the beef mixture.
  • Finally, hand roll your beef burritos and serve!
