Growing up near Seattle, salmon was a big deal. My dad would go fishing and bring home salmon, and we’d feast for days.

Now that I live in Arizona, I’ve swapped fresh salmon for sunshine. I love both, but to keep this recipe simple, I like to use wild caught Alaskan canned salmon.

It’s one of my family’s favorite go-to dinners, and is perfect for those busy weeknights. Plus, if you have leftovers, or want to prep ahead, this also makes a fantastic lunch!

Here’s what you need to get on your next trip to the grocery store…

  • Canned Salmon – I like to use wild caught Alaskan salmon.
  • Mayonnaise
  • Garlic – Freshly minced, or minced from a jar works great.

How to Make a Salmon Sandwich

It’s actually SO easy to make the best salmon sandwich recipe at home!

Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Start by chopping the veggies.

2. Then drain the salmon, and place in a large bowl.

3. Mix in the rest of the ingredients until everything is well combined. Cover bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator.

How to Serve Salmon Sandwiches

There are so many delicious ways to serve up these sandwiches with salmon.

How Long Does Salmon Last in Fridge?

Cold salmon sandwich leftovers (without the bread) store very well in the fridge!

If you’ve got leftovers, simply transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 – 4 days.

Ingredients 

  • 2 cans Boneless Skinless Pink Salmon, drained, (5 oz. each)
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions , (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1/4 cup Celery finely, (finely diced)
  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1 tsp. Lemon Juice
  • 3/4 tsp. Dried Dill
  • 1/4 tsp. Black Pepper

Instructions 

  • Gather your ingredients.
    Salmon sandwich ingredients including mayonnaise, celery, and garlic.
  • In medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients and stir well until combined.
    Unmixed salmon sandwich ingredients in a glass bowl.
  • Cover bowl with plastic wrap and transfer to refrigerator for at least 1 hour, allowing flavors to marinate.
