  1. Alexis says:

substituted evaporated milke for heavy whipping cream and added in some chicken broth. turned out DELICIOUS! I will be keeping this recipe for sure

    1. Heidi says:

I’m so glad you liked it, Alexis… and that sounds delicious!

  2. SB says:

This soup was super easy to make! I love meals that are one pot recipes! Making it for my best friend who just gave birth! I did also add a little chicken broth since people said it was a little on the thicker side

    1. Heidi says:

I’m so glad you liked the soup! And adding a little chicken broth is definitely the tastiest way to thin it down if you’re wanting a less thick soup. 🙂

    2. Dionne says:

If I need to double or triple the recipe to feed more how will that affect the cooking time?

      1. Heidi Miller says:

I honestly haven’t tried doubling or tripling it in a larger crockpot, but if you do… let us know how it turns out!

  3. delphine says:

Je me régale avec ta soupe c’est très appétissant
    Belle soirée

    1. Heidi says:

Merci beaucoup, Delphine. 🙂 Belle soirée

  4. Deb says:

Can the broccoli and cheese soup be frozen

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Deb ~ it’s not recommended to freeze Velveeta because the texture just won’t be the same when it thaws, so this soup is better enjoyed the same day you make it. Hope that helps!

  5. Courtney Allen says:

This looks amazing! I’ve read that it’s a pretty thick soup which I love but my husband does not. He also likes chicken in this soup too. I plan on adding chicken and chicken broth to the crock pot on Low for 4 hours, then adding the rest of the Ingredients on Low for 4 hours. Giving the chicken 8 hours to cook. I bet that’d be perfect!!!

  6. Jessica says:

Can I leave out the onion out of pure laziness?

    1. Heidi says:

You can leave out the onion or try using Onion Powder instead as a shortcut.

      Hope this helps ~ Heidi

  7. Brooke says:

Can you add potatoes to this? To make something like a potato soup? If so,,how do you incorporate them?

    1. Melissa says:

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe saute 2 medium sized, cubed potatoes with butter and onions and add to mixture…

  8. Jasmine says:

Amazing recipe and super easy!!! Only thing I did different was add a little butter, garlic and half a can more of evaporated milk. Perfect!!!

    1. Heidi says:

Sounds like delicious additions, Jasmine! 🙂

  9. Terry w. says:

Making this tonight. Using cauliflower. Also hoping it will be ok in one and a half hours because I forgot to turn the crockpot on when I plugged it in. I did microwave cauliflower 3 min before I added it. Wish me luck.

    1. Heidi Miller says:

Let us know how it turned out!

  10. Vicki says:

Followed it perfectly. ..a tad thick. DELICIOUS don’t get me wrong…portioned it out for office lunches and dripped a bit milk in for moisture and creaminess. ..Awesome add easy! …A+

I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
