  1. Betty says:

My husband and I loved the flavor of this dish and would encourage everyone to try it. This is definitely going into our rotation of meals, I used whole chicken breasts and orange red and green peppers, onions. Next time I’m going to try thighs. Thanks for a great recipe.

    1. Heidi says:

You’re very welcome, Betty… I’m so glad to hear you and your husband enjoyed this easy dinner! I think the thighs would taste delicious, too! 🙂

  2. Stacey B says:

I am making this today but I wondering why the juice needs to be drained? Will it alter the taste that much?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Stacey ~ yes, it really does make a big difference in the flavor of the sauce. Without draining the juices, the sauce will be thiner, runnier, and less flavorful. When you drain the juices you’ll end up with a thick sauce with a more robust flavor. Hope that helps! 🙂

  3. Whitney says:

I have been making this for awhile now and really like this recipe, curious if anyone knows how to convert it to the instant pot?! Thanks

  5. Jennifer says:

I am in the process of making this recipe now! I will let you know of the results later. But I am curious, do I need to season the chicken or is the sauce enough for taste?

    1. Heidi Miller says:

You can use salt and pepper to taste if you’d like, but the sauce will provide plenty of flavor all on its own.

  6. Bobbie says:

Love this! It was fast and easy. I to cut the chicken before cooking and it turned out perfect.

    1. Heidi says:

So glad you loved it, Bobbie! It’s definitely a family favorite here, too! 😉

  7. Joy says:

Can the sweet and sour chicken recipe be doubled?

    1. Bobbie says:

Yes I doubled it and it turned out wonderful

      1. Joy says:

Thank you! My family loves this recipe . Going to try cutting chicken before cooking also.

  8. Rochelle says:

    1. Heidi says:

Aww ~ thanks, Rochelle! So glad your kids are enjoying the recipes, too! 🙂

  9. Joseph says:

Would it be different if I cubed the chicken beforehand, and what would it take to make this a freezer meal?

    1. Steven says:

I would also like to know if the chicken can be cubed at the beginning of cooking everything.

      1. Tonya says:

I accidentally cut the chicken prior to cooking and it turned out fine. I’m glad I did, too. The chicken was pretty tender and cutting it might have torn it apart (shredding).
