So I was wondering if this could be made on the stove. The reason why am asking is because I have a family of 8 to feed and my crockpot isn’t going to fit the amount that I need to feed 8. So I’m just wondering if there’s any other special instructions to do it on the stove?
Hi Cassandra,
You definitely can prepare this recipe using the stove top. You will want to cube the chicken before cooking, then fry in a skillet with some oil. Once the chicken is cooked through, drain the juices. In a separate pan, saute the onion and bell pepper in some oil until soft. Once both the chicken and veggies are done, combine both into one pan and add the sauce & pineapple, stirring well to combine. Then allow the complete dish to simmer for 10-15 minutes before serving.
I hope this helps ~ Heidi
My wife works out of our area sometime and spends many nights eating in restaurants. I made the Crockpot Sweet Fire Chicken on the day she came home. She loved it! It’s even easy enough to make for a man with limited cooking skills. 😉
Hahaha ~ so glad you liked it, Mike! Easy and delicious are the best kind of recipes, right? 🙂
Do you cut up the chicken into chunks for the crockpot sweet fire chicken or do you leave the breast whole?
Thanks
Hi Connie ~ after cooking for 3 hours, you’ll remove chicken, and cut up into pieces on a cutting board, then transfer back into crockpot. Then add the sauce mixture and cook for 30 more minutes, or until done. Hope that helps! 😉
