DIY Stocking Wreath! {5-Minute Christmas Door Decoration}

This cheerful Christmas DIY stocking wreath will make such a fun statement on your front door!

On the hunt for some festive Christmas door decoration ideas? With holiday decorating now in full swing, there’s no better time to make an adorable statement on your front door with a DIY Stocking Wreath!

This year go ahead and skip the traditional wreath, and try making an adorable stocking door hanger instead. They’re so simple to make, and are easy to customize, too!

This sweet and simple Christmas stocking door decoration only takes about 5 minutes to make, and adds the CUTEST touch to your front porch! Plus, you won’t believe how thrifty it is to make. I’ve even seen them selling on Etsy for up to $75! So save yourself some money and take 5 minutes to make your own. 🙂

It really is the perfect time to create another fun Christmas Decoration for your home!

Here’s what you’ll need to make your DIY Stocking Wreath…

What You’ll Need for your Front Door Christmas Stocking:

  • Stocking
  • Faux Christmas Branches and Sprays
  • Twine
  • Safety Pin
  • Over-the-Door Wreath Hanger
  • Bubble Wrap or Newspapers for Filling

How to Make a Christmas Stocking Door Wreath:

  1. First, fill your stocking with bubble wrap or crumped up newspapers to give it a fuller appearance.
  2. Then, cut a piece of twine about 8 inches long. Make it into a loop, and then tie a knot so it makes a circle.
  3. Affix the circular twine to the middle area of your stocking. This is what you will use to hang it from the wreath hanger. By using this rather than the stocking hanger it comes with, you’ll keep it centered on your door, rather than lopsided from the weight. 🙂
  4. Now, add your faux Christmas branches and sprays into your stocking, and arrange to your liking. Isn’t it looking so cute?
  5. Hang the your over-the-door wreath hanger on your door, then hang your stocking wreath on the hanger, from the twine loop, and you’re done!

Wasn’t that so easy?!?
