Here’s what you’ll do…

1. Preheat oven to 250 degrees.

2. Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil, place pine cones on foil, and bake for 30 minutes.

3. This will help clean up the pine cones and take care of any little bugs that might have been hiding inside. So long buggies!

How Long Do Cinnamon Scented Pine Cones Last?

They should last for several weeks, however, the scent will gradually fade. You can easily revive them, even weekly if you’d like, for the strongest scent.

Wondering how to refresh scented pine cones? Over time as the scent starts to fade, just place them back in the bag, add more essential oil, and pull them out again after 1 week.

Or, you can have two sets of pine cones going at all times… one scented version out on display, and another being scented up in a ziploc bag to swap out once the scent fades on the other set.

can i use cinnamon leaf essential oil?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Carol ~ I don’t see why not. I’ve honestly only tried with Cassia Essential Oil, and have read that Cassia has a bit sweeter and stronger scent, so it’s possible the Cinnamon Leaf scented pine cones could end up a little milder in terms of scent? If you do give it a try with the Cinnamon Leaf Oil, let me know how they turn out!
