Peppermint Mocha Recipe

Did somebody say Peppermint Mocha Recipe? Why yes, yes please!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and that means… bring on the Peppermint… and Candy Canes… and chocolatey Christmas coffee bliss!

It’s the perfect cozy drink to snuggle up on the couch with while you catch up on all of your favorite Christmas movies!

Tara writes: "Did this with Almond milk instead of whole milk and it still tasted really good."

Now I’ve got a little secret to tell you… I’m in love with coffee, and it all started one chilly, blustery, Seattle day with a Peppermint Mocha.

It was a rainy Washington day, and I was in high school. Embarrassed, I admitted to a friend of mine that I had never had coffee before.

What?!? This region was the king of coffee culture!

She was dumbfounded and after school that day, she said she had somewhere important she wanted to take me.

After driving through a little drive-thru coffee hut, in no time I found myself holding what was called a Peppermint Mocha.

It was a cold winter day… and this moment changed my life. 🙂 Honestly, I didn’t want to try it. I assumed coffee didn’t taste good.

That’s what I had been told all my life.

I grew up in a non-coffee drinking family. I can’t even fathom the concept anymore! But it was a gift, and of course I didn’t want to be rude, so there I politely obliged.

WOW! It was love at first sip, and it catapulted me into my now long-life-love affair (and yes maybe a little crazy obsession) with coffee.

I even spent a summer in college working for the Starbucks headquarters in Seattle! Talk about delicious. They even trained me how to make every one of my favorite hand-crafted drinks!

That’s why I can’t wait to share this EASY Peppermint Mocha Recipe with you! I’ll even show you how to make a single serving, or a big batch in your crockpot for a party!

It’s the perfect drink to serve at holiday parties or on chilly winter days.

Make it on a cold day, make it for Christmas, make it on a snow day, or why wait… let’s make it today!

You need it, you’ll LOVE it, and your friends and family will thank you!

So here’s how to make a Peppermint Mocha…

Peppermint Mocha ingredients.

Ingredients

It takes just a few simple ingredients to create the BEST Peppermint Mocha!

Here’s what you’ll need to grab on your next trip to the grocery store

  • Brewed Espresso
  • Chocolate Syrup – Hershey’s or Homemade Chocolate Syrup
  • Peppermint Syrup – Torani (found at World Market or on Amazon), or pick up a Starbucks Peppermint Syrup bottle at your local Starbucks cafe.
  • Milk – Use whole milk for the richest, creamiest flavor… or you can even substitute Almond Milk!

That’s it. Just 4 easy ingredients.

Candy Canes in a jar.

Peppermint Mocha Toppings

So if you want to take your dreamy holiday drink to the next level, don’t forget about the festive toppings!

Here are a few of my favorite things to have on hand…

  • Whip Cream
  • Crushed Candy Canes (or crushed peppermint candies)
  • Mini Chocolate Chips
  • Shaved Chocolate Curls
  • Sprinkling of Cocoa Powder

Now here’s where the fun begins… you can choose to make a single serving version just for you… or you can whip up a big batch in your slow cooker for a party!

Hmm… choices, choices!

Hello! Thank you for these awesome recipes! Quick question for you. For the peppermint mocha, you said to get Starbucks Peppermint Syrup. I’ve never seen them sold anywhere. Where can I find it? Thank you again!

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Rose ~ I’m so glad you’re enjoying the recipes! You can purchase the Starbucks Syrups at your local Starbucks store. Or, you could use Torani Peppermint Syrup instead. That can be found at World Market, or on Amazon.

      Hope that helps! 🙂
