Really loved your recipe, but sometimes root beer is not available in nearby mall. So, can I replace it with another drink like Cola etc.

I’m so glad you loved the wings! And yes, you can definitely replace the root beer with cola. Here is a recipe for that:

My family loves these wings! I decided to adapt the recipe to my instant Pot and is so simple and delicious. I just combine about 4 ounces of root beer with a cup and a half of one of my favorite BBQ sauces and 10 wings. Sometimes frozen, sometimes thawed–it works either way. Set it for pressure cook for 15 minutes, quick pressure release when time is up and then baste them with more sauce and pop under the broiler. Usually I do three to four turns and basting for 4-5 minutes each and then we feast. There are only two of us , but because this is so simple, we eat wings often. If it were not so easy, we probably would only eat them when we go out–but this way, we get our wings “fix” at least three times a month. I tried it with the cola instead of root beer tonight, and it was good, but we really like the root beer. I have also used the same basic recipe on ribs in the IP, and we liked that too. Thanks for the great basic recipe–it is a winner!

I put whole bag wings, frozen. Use pepsi and abou 1/2 the BBQ sauce. Then remove from crock pot and place on cookie sheet adding more sauce. Broil 5-7 min. makes the BBQ sauce stick. My family eats these up!! Super easy.

Hello, I just found this recipe and I’m going to use it for my super bowl party tonight! I plan to grill the chicken wings first (us in the middle of winter with snow on the ground haha!) and then add them to the crock pot with the bbq/root beer mixture… Any advice for that method?

If you’re grilling them, I might just mix the BBQ sauce and root beer and brush it on while on the grill. Maybe set some sauce aside to use for dipping, too.
