  1. Danish Verma says:

Really loved your recipe, but sometimes root beer is not available in nearby mall. So, can I replace it with another drink like Cola etc.

  2. Kate H. says:

My family loves these wings! I decided to adapt the recipe to my instant Pot and is so simple and delicious. I just combine about 4 ounces of root beer with a cup and a half of one of my favorite BBQ sauces and 10 wings. Sometimes frozen, sometimes thawed–it works either way. Set it for pressure cook for 15 minutes, quick pressure release when time is up and then baste them with more sauce and pop under the broiler. Usually I do three to four turns and basting for 4-5 minutes each and then we feast. There are only two of us , but because this is so simple, we eat wings often. If it were not so easy, we probably would only eat them when we go out–but this way, we get our wings “fix” at least three times a month. I tried it with the cola instead of root beer tonight, and it was good, but we really like the root beer. I have also used the same basic recipe on ribs in the IP, and we liked that too. Thanks for the great basic recipe–it is a winner!

    1. Heidi says:

This is a great tip, Kate… thanks so much for sharing! I can’t wait to give these a try in the Instant Pot! 🙂

  3. Liz says:

Can you use diet instead of regular root beer

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Liz ~ I honestly haven’t tried with diet soda, but have heard from others that they didn’t really like it that way. If you do try it with the diet version though, let me know how it turns out!

  4. Kris says:

Can you do any of these recipes with boneless chicken chunks? Picky eaters unfortunately, lol. Please and thank you

    1. Zander says:

Picky eaters,I feel for ya sister, I really do.

  5. Sue says:

How long would you cook if you use chicken legs?

  6. Monica says:

Could a person use frozen large breaded popcorn chicken instead of wings? If so, how would you recommend making them?

  7. Susie says:

In the recipe it says to cook for 30 minutes after pouring mixture over chicken. Do I cook them in the crockpot or broil in the oven?

    1. Heidi says:

Hi Susie ~ you’ll continue cooking them in the Crockpot for 30 more minutes. ENJOY! 🙂

  8. Kelly says:

I put whole bag wings, frozen. Use pepsi and abou 1/2 the BBQ sauce. Then remove from crock pot and place on cookie sheet adding more sauce. Broil 5-7 min. makes the BBQ sauce stick. My family eats these up!! Super easy.
