Don’t worry… it’s actually really EASY to make your own dairy-free milk at home! Not only is this Vanilla Oat Milk Recipe so fast and frugal to make, it’s absolutely delicious!

So no more wondering how to make oat milk… you’re about to become a pro!

Whether you’re lactose-intolerant (like me), want a vegan oat milk, or just want a thrifty alternative to the dairy-free milks at the store… this is IT!

Plus, it only takes about 5 minutes to make!

Purchasing oat milk 1/2 gallons can run around $5 or more at the stores near me. Ouch!

I love oat milk, but not for that price.

So I was determined to learn how to make it myself, and guess what… if you buy your ingredients in bulk you’ll be making it for around 50c – 75c per half gallon!

Now that’s some serious savings!

Plus… you’ll just need 4 ingredients and some water! Talk about simple!

To make your oat milk, grab out these ingredients you probably already have on hand…

  • Rolled Oats – also known as Old Fashioned Oats
  • Vanilla Extract – to add a hint of warm flavor
  • Salt – to bring out the flavors
  • Sugar – to add a subtle kiss of sweetness
  • Water

Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Rolled Oats (Old Fashioned Oats)
  • 1/2 tsp. Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/8 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 3 cups Water

Instructions 

  • Pour all ingredients into your heavy-duty blender or food processor, place lid on, and blend on medium-high until well combined (approx. 30 seconds).
  • Then, over a medium bowl, strain milk through cheesecloth to remove any remaining pieces of oatmeal.
  • Transfer your creamy oat milk into a mason jar or an old cleaned out milk container, place in the fridge, and you're done!
  • Shake well before each use, and enjoy cold* as a drink, in fruit smoothies, or with your morning bowl of cereal.
  • Use within 5 days and ENJOY!

Notes

  • *This milk does not do well heating up, so use it cold.
