Can I Use Oat Flour Instead of All Purpose Flour?
You sure can… however it’s not a 1 for 1 conversion.
Oat flour is actually much lighter in weight than all purpose flour, so you may need to add more oat flour than a recipe with all purpose flour calls for.
A kitchen scale will come in handy when measuring. 🙂

Oat Flour Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups Old Fashioned Oats (Rolled Oats)
- 1 Food Processor or Heavy-Duty Blender also needed
Instructions
- Transfer oats to a Food Processor or Heavy-Duty Blender, and pulse or blend just until oats turn into a powdery consistency. This usually takes between 20 seconds to 1 minute, based on your machine. (Note: Be careful not to overdo it, as pulsing or blending too long can result in a clumpier texture.)
- Use oat flour right away in your recipe, or transfer to a mason jar and seal with a lid for later.
- Storage tip: Oat flour can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
