Christmas Cookie Mix in a Jar Recipe

Christmas MM Cake Mix Cookies

What You’ll Need:

  • 1 box Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix {15.25 oz.}
  • 1 bag Red and Green M&M’s Minis Baking Bits {11 oz.}
  • 1 quart size Wide Mouth Mason Jar
  • Scrapbook Paper
  • Ribbon

Instructions:

  • Carefully empty the contents of the cake mix package into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar, and gently pat down the top.
  • Pour in the M&M’s.
  • Put the silver jar topper on top, place a round scrap of scrapbook paper on top, then screw on the jar’s lid.  {or you could use a doilie like I did here}
  • Tie a bow around the middle with your ribbon.
  • Optional: If you’ve got a Silhouette, you could even print the words ‘Cookie Mix’ like I did here.

Attach a Label with Baking Instructions:

  • Attach a label {or you can add the instructions to the top of the jar’s lid} with the following baking instructions.
  • Beat together 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable or Canola Oil in medium bowl.
  • Pour in entire contents of jar, and stir well with spoon.
  • Chill dough for 20 minutes in the refrigerator prior to baking.
  • Then, drop onto ungreased non-stick cookie sheet in rounded balls.
  • Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes {or until done} at 350 degrees.

    Thanks for decoration ideas.
    I’m going to bake the cookies Christmas Eve though because my sister doesn’t have time to make them.

      Yes, I just made valentine jars/cookies with the Betty crocker red velvet mix and valentine m&ms. They turned out yummy and the jars are so cute for valentine gifts!
