Colorful table and activities with text describing where everything came from.

Hi fellow Frugal Girls!  For this party, I used a lime green twin size flat sheet for the table cloth and put craft supplies in cute tin buckets.

The buckets were purchased at Target from the Dollar Spot section.

I made the flower centerpieces from clearance items as well.

Then, I picked up the flower charger and dot napkins from Hobby Lobby.

I purchased a small chocolate fountain and the girls dipped strawberries and marshmallows in it.

They had a LOT of fun!

Girls Slumber Party Favors

Hailey and I made their goodie baskets with spa essentials (picked up from the Dollar Store) as well as their craft items.

They colored their own pillowcase and made fabric flip flops.

The baskets were purchased from the Dollar Tree and we cut out their names from scrapbook paper using a personal cutting system.

Spin the Bottle Nail Polish Game

I made this game – a “new” version of spin the bottle!

Each girl took turns spinning, and when it landed on a color they had to paint 1 toe (or finger) with that particular color.

When it landed on the other spaces they could pick their favorite color.

The girl who had all nails painted first won a prize.

Girl Slumber Party Crafts

Here was craft time – as they color their own pillowcases purchased from ColorTime.

Note: They were the most expensive part of her party supplies.

Flip Flop Craft

I pre-cut strips of tulle and fabric for them to tie onto inexpensive flip flops we purchased.

They LOVED this craft!!!

All the girls were able to wear their flip flops home after the party.

Frugal friend Marion writes: "My granddaughters loved this craft! Ages 4-12."

Wasn’t that such a great party?

Thanks so much to Christina for sharing!

Here’s another fun flip flop variation you could make at your Sleepover parties, too…

How to Make Flower Flip Flops

Light blue flip flops with flowers attached.

What You’ll Need

Flip Flops (I found some on sale for 60 cents per pair at Michael’s!)

Three pairs of children\'s flip flops.

Silk Floral Stems (I found some for $1.00/bunch at Michael’s)

Pile of silk flowers on table.

Jewels (can be found at any craft store)

Hot Glue

Hot glue sticks and jewels in basket.

What You’ll Do

1. Take apart flower by removing stem, plastic backing, and center of flower.

Silk flower with stem and center removed.

2. These flowers had several layers, so I added just a smidge of hot glue between each layer to keep them together.

3. Then, add hot glue to the back of a jewel, and place it in the center.

I use the hot setting on my glue g*n.  The lower temperature glue won’t work well, so make sure it’s hot… but no burning fingers, okay?? 😉

4. Add hot glue to the top center of the flip flop straps, then press flower on.

5. Now… if you live in a hot, hot, hot climate… you could also attach these with thread and needle, to make sure they’re extra secure.

Black flip flops with silk flowers attached.

Good job… you did it!  Wasn’t that easy??

These took me about 5 minutes per pair to make ~ so this is definitely a quick project!

How Much Did it Cost?

  • Flip Flops (60 cents on sale at Michael’s)
  • Silk Flowers ($1.00 per bunch on sale at Michael’s)
  • Jewels ($2.99 for pack of 55 at Michael’s)
  • Total Cost per pair: About $1.65!!

Thank you so much for sharing your (and your friend’s) ideas! LOVE the spin the bottle game. We host an end of season party for our daughter’s soccer team. I always try to find a fun group game. The team is 3-5th grade which means there is a big swing in opinion on what is ‘cool.’ This is perfect!

We are planning my 9 year old grand daughters party now. We purchased pillow cases from Dollar Tree for 1.00 each, these we will use to write the invitations on and mail them out to the girls, asking them to bring their own pillow to go in it that night. She loves the color green so we are having a GREEN party! everything will be green. Have t-shirts that their names will be monogramed on that they will wear as night shirts. The gift baskets that they will take home has all green gifts. Been working on this for a couple of months so we don’t have one large expense all at once

This year I am giving my daughter and my niece a Fancy Nancy (girls book seires) princess slumber party! I found some foam tiara’s at a discount craft store and lots of sequin and glue on “jewels”, along with feathers and glitter paint they will each get to make a “fancy” tiera! We are going to have a tea party with fancy cookies (Peperidge Farms) and fancy sandwiches (cucumber, pb&J cut outs). We will also be doing “fancy” makeovers with glitter, feathers, makeup and nail polish. Each girl will have her picture made while she is “fancy” which I will later use as a thank you note for attending the party. After some singing and dancing I will read several of the Fancy Nancy books as she girls wind down for bedtime. The age will range from 4 – 8 and I hope they all love it.

  10. Jasmine Green says:

My daughter was turning 11 wanted a sleepover so I had them do these fun activities and they really enjoyed them all. They first made neckalces or bracelets with store bought beads , then, have a contest making an outfit out of foil; you slipt the guest up into teams and see who makes the best outfit, or decorate little bags with paint for your guest to take home all their prizes like nail polish and lip gloss. Hope these help someone.
